Your bedroom is the outward expression of your love for yourself, so start loving yourself more as love leads to all things good, no matter you are sharing your bedroom with a loved one or only with yourself. Ultimately, love does not come from the outside but is rather an expression of your own energy. So express it more, as well as nourish and strengthen this expression with good feng shui in your bedroom.

Be aware of the position of the windows. If you can, try to avoid placing your bed between the window and a door, or you'll be in the middle of the "draught" of chi running between these two places. If you can't avoid it, just make sure you have nice, pleasant curtains to block some of the bad energy. You should also avoid sleeping facing the window, if you can, or your sleep won't be as restful.

If you look for it, Benko says, "symbolism is constantly bombarding us on an everyday basis. From literature to traffic signage to movies, we're always being guided by symbolism. In our homes, it's enhanced even more, because we are creating these intimate environments that most often represent our fears and challenges." Often, we unwittingly reinforce the challenges in our lives by having their symbols in our space.
Hello Feng Shui Nexus ! I have a question ! I was planning on adding a decorative decal to my ceiling bedroom of a galaxy space them. Not to large, the edges break away from ceiling to the outer cosmos. Would this affect my Feng Shui negatively or badly being that I hear purple and blue should avoided for ceiling bedroom Feng Shui and can cause clouded low thoughts ? Is this true ?
As you know, the native feng shui element of the South area is Fire, so this by itself is already weakening the negative Wood element energy of the visiting star. If you have done a good job with creating harmonious feng shui energy with Fire element decor that is needed in the South bagua area, the potentially negative energy that is present here in 2019 is already diminished.
Everyone appreciates the benefits of beautiful, comfortable living environments; America’s billion-dollar interior decorating industry attests to this fact. However, Feng Shui takes the approach that your surroundings affect not just your level of material comfort but also your physical and mental health, your relationships, and your worldly success.
With reports that one in three Americans aren’t getting the sleep they need, it seems people are constantly searching for strategies to not only sleep more, but also get sleep that's truly restorative. From products like eye masks and weighted blankets to natural sleep aids like chamomile tea and magnesium, we're always on the hunt for the next great hack that'll help us snooze. Unlike these quick fixes, feng shui is anything but a shortcut; however, practitioners say the impact can be profound.
The bagua map is used by first orienting yourself to the main entrance to the house, or the entry to an individual room, then using the map to identify the different key areas of the space. Then, specific items can be positioned in those key areas to enhance the feng shui. For example, the place defined as the wisdom area is a good place for a small stack of books, while the love and relationship space is a good place for a wedding photo.

Does your entry door squeak or whine when you open or close it? The entry door is the first and last thing you encounter when coming or going from your home. The sound is as if the door is crying and this can affect your mood and well-being. Many people have become so accustomed to the sound that they don’t even notice it. Oil that door hinge and create more positive energy when you enter and leave your house. It’s also helpful to oil any other door hinges throughout the home, but the entry door is the most important.

In order to create and keep good feng shui energy in your home, it is important to have natural rhythms expressed visually in your decor. It is the energy of inhaling and exhaling, the energy of night and day, summer and winter, yin and yang. What that means on a practical level is that your house has areas that are busy and bursting with bright colors, images and textures, and then it also has areas of visual rest, stillness or repose. A house that is all stillness or all activity (as expressed in its decorating choice) is not a good feng shui house.
Get rid of clothes you no longer wear. Go through your closet and drawer and remove all of the clothes you haven't worn within the last year. Donate these clothes or pass them on to a friend or relative if they can still be worn. Even though you may not see the old clothes, keeping them in your bedroom may prevent you from embracing new opportunities.

Make sure you have something representing the five elements — wood, earth, metal, fire, and water — in every room. The goal is to stay grounded, centered, and balanced in your life and your environment. For example, place a wooden bowl filled with stone pebbles alongside a candle and a vase of flowers. Or try to incorporate colors that symbolize the five elements:
Focus on Wood element decor in order to support the Fire energy of this auspicious annual star. This is the safest way to keep both the visiting star happy, as well as the native bagua energy happy and balanced. Choose from a variety of feng shui cures such as vibrant plants (especially powerful cures for this area are the feng shui money plants and the lucky bamboo), fresh flowers, decor items in colors green and brown, as well as images of lush, green landscapes.
Anything in your home, whether it’s a door, sink or stove, that is broken will suck money energy out of your home. The fastest way to heal the energy of your home to attract money is to fix any broken things. The stove and anything related to plumbing are extremely important to keep functioning. When those things aren’t working, you’ll experience a financial clog.
My home is rental and my bathroom is NE . Sight: As I mentioned before, Earthy tones are really what you want to be seeing in the bedroom. Fiery tones (reds, pinks, and oranges) can also be nice in moderation. Again, these accents should always be presented in pairs. In my bedroom, you'll find a pair of small pink Mandarin ducks—a traditional Chinese symbol. I love these because the story goes that the ducks were always faithful to each other. Find accents like this that speak to you.
If you have even one leak – anywhere in or around your house – stop reading this blog post and fix it now. In feng shui – and in life – water is wealth: a water leak is both literally and figuratively a leak of precious resources. That’s why fixing leaks will help you save and retain money, rather than watching it flow out just as soon as it flows in.
Without question, the money is always at the front door. Give your porch and front door area a good cleaning. Is there a broken light bulb or a dying plant? Anything that doesn’t work properly, look auspicious or that’s dirty (like a light fixture with dead bugs in it), will lower your financial energy. Spruce up your front door and walkway. Add a pretty pot of flowers here and keep the porch light on and the area will-lit to invite money and opportunity to your home.
Feng shui can be used to decide the location, construction, and architectural features of buildings, the placement and style of furniture, colors and decorating schemes, and the location of plantings, paths, and other outside features. By creating a more pleasing atmosphere, feng shui has been credited with improving family communication, restoring employee cooperation, and increasing a store's sales.
Whether you’re on a Marie Kondo-inspired cleaning kick or made a New Year’s resolution to focus on self care, the bedroom is a great place to focus that fresh-start energy. While decluttering is always an excellent way to begin, it may also be time to feng shui your bedroom, which will not only leave it looking nicer but may also help you sleep better.
Hi, i wanted to place a large aquarium in my living hall but unfortunately, the place that allows me to have the aquarium falls into 5 ghosts sector and may crossover a bit to my wealth sector while the other main part of My wealth sector turn out to be the staircase and a toilet underneath the staircase. I saw contradicting articles about putting aquarium in the 5 ghosts sector, with one suggested that the water in the aquarium will “put off” the 5 ghosts element of fire and it will become harmless while another forbidding the placement of aquarium in the 5 ghosts sector…I am confused and would like to hear more from you. Thanks.
These are firm rules like “no computer in the bedroom” or “no cell phone close to the bed”, and definitely “no TV or exercise equipment in the bedroom”. Why? Mainly because they create high EMFs for which you pay dearly (often without understanding why you are not feeling well). They also slowly but surely destroy all the goodness you want to have in your most intimate space — the energy of genuine love, deep connection and sexual healing.

This can be tough if storage space is at a premium, but avoid storing anything under the bed. "Whatever is below will rise above," says Cerrano. That means you don’t want to store things under the bed that may trigger an emotional response, like bills or mementos from loved ones. Linens and things of that nature are considered neutral, so feel free to store those underneath if needed, but Cerrano notes, “Ideally we want the energy to flow under and around the bed unobstructed.”

The kitchen is considered the heart of the home in many cultures for obvious reasons. In feng shui, the kitchen is also connected to the health and wealth energy, so it is very important to take good care of your kitchen. From best feng shui colors for your specific kitchen to creating and maintaining fresh and nourishing energy, any and all details matter in creating a good feng shui kitchen. There can be no good feng shui home if the energy in the kitchen is unhappy, stagnant or cold.
– I have yellowish crystal galloping 5 horses( in an incline up formation) which i bought sometime back however due to mishandling one of the front leg of the horses got broken(half of it). I was thinking of sticking a wooden piece to make for the missing half leg. Should i be looking doing that or shall i discard crystal horses. It is close to 12 – 14 inches in length. If i have to keep horses, which direction would be good for them and which direction they should be facing.

If you have anything hanging right above your bed, such as a chandelier, you will get that same feeling of discomfort because you may not feel 100% safe, and the effects are worse if it is hanging right above your head. The cure is to remove that furniture and place it somewhere else, like right above a dining table, where people will not reside right under it.

A good feng shui house has no sha chi (attacking) or si chi (low) energy in the landscape surrounding the house. Carefully study the outside of your home, looking at your surroundings with fresh eyes. Do you live in a house on a cul-de-sac or in a house at a T-junction? Do you live close to the railroad? Is your backyard sloped? Usually, houses with these conditions have challenging feng shui that needs to be managed. Creating a beautiful garden, no matter how small, will help attract beneficial feng shui energy to your house and can compensate for such conditions.
Plants respond to music, light and positive energy. When plants are thriving and blooming with beauty, the energy in your home is abundant and flowing. If plants are browning, sagging or dying, the energy is clogged and stagnant. Plants are very telling of the energy of your home, so keeping them in your environment and taking the time to fill your space with positive energy will keep the energy fluid.
5. Minimize. Your bedroom should be a place of rest, contemplation, and intimacy. Exercise equipment, phones, and a TV give off and take up a lot of energy. The bedroom is a place where you turn off the stresses of the day. If you must have your bedroom serve double duty, use a folding screen or hanging fabric to conceal them. If you’re not willing to part with your TV, keep it in an armoire or cabinet so you can shut the door while you sleep.

I just started looking into feng shui thinking it may help my husband’s stress and conflict at work, ease his tension when he gets home and help my own businesses become prosperous. I’ve been reading so much and sometimes I am not surfe I fully understand. Can you give me some tips? https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/5b35b0e2b423d0194d698d26075abfec5ad9e1da1b106c015e9d23185aa0b84b.jpg
The southeast sector is the wealth sector and can be activated by good luck charms and feng shui cures. Stimulate it by adding the element of wood, like a jade plant, or a symbol of wealth, like three Chinese coins tied together with a red ribbon. A three-legged toad with a Chinese coin in its mouth is also an auspicious symbol of wealth. A water feature will feed the wood element and stimulate a growth in wealth. Be sure the water flows into the home and not away.
Do you want to turn your bedroom into a Feng Shui bedroom? Then follow the tips given above. Many interior designers have always used the fundamental concepts of Feng Shui when they design rooms—and with good reason. The flow of energy inside a bedroom is crucial for the health and stability of the ones who stay in it. This is why it’s very important to take into consideration both the type of furniture you’ll get for your bedroom and more importantly, the placement of the furniture. If you follow some of these best practices and things to avoid, you’ll be able to make a good Feng Shui bedroom where you’ll really feel the smooth flow of natural energy around you.

Many of us have those "I’ll fit into them someday" jeans from high school, but letting go of the clothing that we don’t need will give our brains a cue to also let go of other unnecessary things (like weight or harmful people or anxiety). When we have a full closet, we give the universe the message that our lives are complete and we don’t need anything else. It’s astounding what a little space in your closet can do to invite magic into your life.
Make sure the bed is positioned as far from the door as possible. Place the bed in the area further from the door or diagonally from the door, but not in line with the door. In other words, you want to be able to see the door while in bed, but not be aligned with the door. Be it the bedroom door, the door to the balcony/patio, the bathroom door or your closet doors, you do not want your bed in line with any of the doors in your bedroom, or too much chi will flow towards the bed. Ideally, the bed can be diagonally positioned from the door, jutting out from the opposite corner.[1]

The best feng shui advice for choosing bedroom art is to choose images that you want to see happening in your life; you want images with nourishing, happy and beautiful energy. Unless you enjoy being sad and lonely, do not use sad and lonely images in your bedroom. Best art for the bedroom are images related to the emotions of love, happy relationships, body healing, and intimacy.
The SE gate position had already been ony mind before you mentioned it. As my neighbours gate is directly right next to it. The other side of the gate, along the front fenceline is a public pathway. It can get very busy with people traffic night and day. I was thinking about having the gate maybe moved to the left and having it staggered slightly offset from the direction of the front door of the property. But thats more money to spend as it would need a builder to rebuild a wall etc. And the front garden area would need rejigging! As for illness,
Not all bedrooms are ideal candidates for feng shui layouts. Most American homes weren't built with any feng shui considerations, so the challenges are always present when trying to create an auspicious feng shui bedroom layout and design. This is especially true of small bedrooms. Space is a premium in small bedrooms. This includes wall space that's often broken up by doors and windows.

I could also build a L-shaped wardrobe in one side of the bed instead, if I don’t place the bed in the middle of the wall, which would create extra space in one side (the bed wouldn’t be squished into a corner, but there would be a considerable difference between the space in one side and the other; let’s say 4 feet in one side and 2 feet in the other side). In your opinion, which scenario would be most optimal? Any remedy for possible issues or variables to avoid?

First of all, thank you for sharing and creating this site. Its very useful and informative. I just want to ask your opinion about our house. it belongs to my father. my family (me, my husband and my son) lives with him for the past 6 years now. we are sleeping at the 3rd floor of the house. our problem is we are not able to save money. and every time we receive a large amount of money one of my family get sick and the money goes to the hospital bills. please help us.
Feng Shui is often referred to as the art of placement. How you place your furniture, possessions, and yourself within your surroundings largely determines your life experience at every level. Feng Shui offers a unique way of looking at yourself and your environment, and it provides a way of bringing balance, comfort, and harmony into your environment in a manner that is difficult to achieve by any other means.

Many of us have those "I’ll fit into them someday" jeans from high school, but letting go of the clothing that we don’t need will give our brains a cue to also let go of other unnecessary things (like weight or harmful people or anxiety). Sha Chi is anything unpleasant that brings negative energy: a smelly pile of dirty laundry, harsh overhead lighting, clutter, dirt, or unclean bed linens. Charge your phone or tablet elsewhere to eliminate unwanted magnetic radiation, and wake up to a soundless (no tick tock!) clock with a gradual alarm like this one. Rid your room of anything dangerous, such as a rickety ceiling fan or a shelf with heavy objects mounted over your head.
For instance, if your bed is under a window and you can’t move it, hang a faceted crystal ball 9 units (inches, cm, etc) from the ceiling in front of the window. What about exposed beams? A Chinese bamboo flute hung on a beam transforms negative energy into positive. You can use the 9 minor additions to fix negative Feng Shui, energize certain sections of your house, and improve the flow of Ch’i.
Make sure the bed is a good height. To allow for a balanced Feng Shui energy flow under the bed, you need to have your bed at a reasonable height above the floor level. Generally, the beds that have built-in storage drawers underneath to help you with storage solutions are considered bad Feng Shui beds. Why? Because the energy needs to circulate around your body when you sleep, which is not possible if the space underneath the bed is blocked.
Hi Sir, need your help. I m staying in a condo and my main entrance is facing North direction. I put a water fountain outside the main entrance (to the left and water flowing in to the main entrance) and another fish tank inside the house just next to the main entrance. My favorable direction is North but recent months, wealth and career are down the drain. Pls advice. Thank you in advance
To ensure a good night's sleep, be conscious of your bedroom's ceiling as well, suggests Cerrano. "Do you have a ceiling fan, beams, a skylight, an angled or slanted ceiling design?" she asks. "Any of these could negatively affect your sleep and energy as they relate to Sha energy (which drains a person's energy)," Cerrano explains. If your ceiling has any of the aforementioned items, avoid sleeping directly under them, if you can, she suggests.
Although somewhat less important than the front door, the rest of the doors in the house symbolize the ease with which you flow through life and accomplish your intentions. So to minimize daily hassles, delays, and irritations, remove anything positioned behind doors in such a way that inhibits their full range of motion. In some cases, it can also feel better to remove hooks or racks from doors, specifically if they cause the door to feel heavier or more unwieldy.
This will allow for the best and most nourishing flow of energy to strengthen your health, as well as the health of your relationship. Keeping your bedroom closet clean and organized will further create a sense of peace and calm in your bedroom. Understand the interaction between the doors and windows in your bedroom and be sure the energy is not escaping your bedroom, but rather nourishes and strengthens it.

What is the first thing you see as you enter your house? Pay attention to where the energy (your attention) goes immediately. Does it go straight to a bathroom that is close to the front door? Or is it pushed right back by a mirror facing the front door? Do you have a staircase facing the front door? Or, maybe your front door is aligned to the back door so that most of the good energy entering the house immediately escapes. All these conditions are hindrances to good feng shui.
You can activate various areas in your life by placing feng shui elements and object in your bedroom. For example, you can activate your wealth area in the southeast sector of your bedroom by placing three metal Chinese coins tied together with red ribbon. Improve or enhance your marriage or relationship with a carved pair of rose quartz mandarin ducks on your nightstand.
4. Declutter. From a feng shui perspective, clutter symbolizes unfinished business and impedes forward progress. Keep your furnishings to only the necessary pieces and keep clutter contained to allow chi to flow freely around the room. Clutter under your bed has its own type of energy that can disturb your sleep as well. This “less is more” approach applies to your closet too. Make sure your closet is clean and organized, which will help you give you a sense of control over your life. Add plants in the corners of your space to help prevent energy from stagnating there.
FENG SHUI seemed destined to go the way of hippie communes, ridiculed as a bourgeois lifestyle fad. Instead, like yoga and organic food, the ancient Chinese practice of positioning objects, buildings and even whole communities to maximize the flow of energy, or chi, has penetrated the culture beyond the New Age world of crystals and chimes. ''Growing up in Brooklyn, the closest I came to feng shui was the Chinese laundry,'' said Robert A. Levine, president and chief executive of the RAL Companies, a real estate development and management firm. ''I thought of feng shui as a lifestyle for certain people versus something to implement in terms of commercial development projects.''

A common place for storage in the bedroom is usually under the bed, but Cerrano believes it's not good practice: "This may not be the most ideal place for extra storage. Why? From a feng shui perspective, storage under the bed can obstruct your sleeping pattern because the movement of energy cannot flow evenly around the energy fields of your bed. For instance, shoes are suggested to be stored in closets because they symbolise other people potentially taking advantage of you."
If you’ve been reading my articles for a while, you might get tired of me repeating “no clutter, no clutter, no clutter”. I have to keep doing it, though. Clutter is stuck energy, and the essence of cluttered spaces  – as well as the dominant energy of people who live in cluttered spaces – is based on fear mixed with pessimism. Hardly a quality of energy that can help one attract wealth! Yes, of course, I know that clearing clutter is not easy, and yes, I know that it might take time to get rid of all your clutter. All you have to do, though, is commit to clearing it, and then follow an easy feng shui clutter clearing system.

To benefit from the auspicious energy brought by this feng shui star here in 2019, focus on expressing an inspiring quality of energy connected to your dreams, mainly career dreams. This is the “specialty” of this star — to support you in achieving your career goals and to give you wings to soar higher than you ever thought possible. You do not have to fill this area with career-related images,  it is your clear intent that really counts. A small career success related photo or any appropriate item for this area will work equally as well as a big one,  what is important is for you to be really inspired by it. As the East feng shui bagua area is connected to the energy of health and family, it is important not to overwhelm this area with career and work-related images. Subtle work is the way to achieve balance and good feng shui in the East area in 2019.
Refrain from positioning your bed directly under a beam. A beam may create feelings of pressure that can disrupt your sleep. If you have no other options, cover the beam with fabric or hang 2 bamboo flutes from the beam with the mouthpieces pointed downward. This will help block some of the unwanted energy coming from above the bed. The idea is that you don't want to feel threatened in your sleep.

When your bedroom is on top of a garage, you sleep can be disrupted by a variety of factors, including the smell of car exhaust, noise from garage door movements, insects that creeps into your bedroom, and warmer bedroom temperatures. If these four factors are non-existent, your bedroom’s feng shui location should be fine. I wrote a full article about it, and you can read it here.
History aside (if you are curious, you can read my articles on how feng shui started) – what is feng shui in a nutshell and why should you care? Let’s stay with this question for a bit. Feng shui is, first and foremost, energy work. The most accurate definition of feng shui is of feng shui as acupuncture of the space. Feng shui opens up powerful energy channels in your home to help it get stronger, more harmonious and powerful. This, in turns, nourishes and strengthens your own energy.
Creating good feng shui for your home will be easy when you start with AYRIAL Feng Shui to learn the basics of classical feng shui. AYRIAL will provide inspiring, amusing and enlightening feng shui tips every day from Viviana Estrada. THE address of Valley Springs Industrial Center in this enterprising pocket of Los Angeles County is 168 Mason Way, which means nothing to the English-speaking world, except perhaps those named Mason, and everything to the Chinese tenants who fill all but 2 of the 14 units. ''We came here because we wanted a new look for the company and because in Chinese the numbers on the address mean the business will continue to grow,'' said Barbara Choi, the founder of the Cosmobeauti Lab, a cosmetics and personal-care products manufacturer.
The diagrams are also linked with the sifang (four directions) method of divination used during the Shang dynasty.[37] The sifang is much older, however. It was used at Niuheliang, and figured large in Hongshan culture's astronomy. And it is this area of China that is linked to Yellow Emperor (Huangdi) who allegedly invented the south-pointing spoon (see compass).[38]
