Always start with your space first, listen to it and experiment with applying feng shui, do not take it as the ultimate and absolutely powerful knowledge. Feng shui is not a religion, nor is it a superstitious set of beliefs; in its best application feng shui is a powerful tool to improve the energy of any space. This, in turn, improves the energy of people who live or work in the space. It’s that simple! If you feel confused about combining the annual updates with the traditional feng shui bagua requirements, these tips for applying the yearly feng shui updates will help.
RT: Start by listening to the space and seeing what colors it needs. Then, look at the feng shui guidelines. For example, an east facing room is treated very differently in feng shui than a north facing one because each direction needs a specific element in order to thrive energetically. Then, of course, play and experiment until you choose only what makes your heart jump for joy!

While this may sound fairly vague, it’s actually quite simple. Make sure that any furnishings are arranged so as to allow a positive flow around them – you shouldn’t run into the back of the sofa, for example, when you enter a living room. The same rings true for a dresser in the bedroom. A space is much more inviting when it’s arranged with the feng shui guidelines of keeping the flow inherent and real.
There is nothing in feng shui principles that dictates you must paint your room walls certain colors. The Chinese use color in its relationship to direction as reminders of the powerful forces according to feng shui philosophy. For example, a warrior often used red paint on his battle shield to ward off his enemies and remind himself of the mighty southern chi energy. Fire and passion were elements he required in order to defeat his enemies.

Limit the presence of crystals in the Southeast area in 2019. Even though crystals are an excellent feng shui cure for the Southeast area, in 2019 they are not ideal here because their element — the Earth feng shui element — is strengthening the Metal element of the visiting negative star. This means in order to limit the negative energy here, it is important to limit the elements that strengthen the negative star.

There are several ways to incorporate feng shui and the five elements in spaces. Ideally, spaces should have a balance of the five elements as a whole, within each room, and even in small arrangements, i.e., a fireplace mantle. In the following sections, you will learn various ways to apply the five elements and feng shui your home. Applying the elements in your home can be used in tandem with feng shui using the Bagua Map or room-by-room based on the room’s function. The five elements can also be used to help balance out your own energy based upon your elemental constitution.
The Earth element in interiors adds warmth to spaces, according to the philosophy of feng shui. The dirt or soil is what we commonly think of as what the earth is made of. When we feel ungrounded, one of the best things to do is to put your hands in the dirt, take a walk, or even lay on the ground. There is a grounding nature to the Earth. If you’ve been on a boat or plane for very long, it feels wonderful to simply feel the earth under your feet. This grounding nature of the Earth element is what adds a grounding energy to our spaces as well.

As with any other popular home decor item used for good feng shui, it is best to know the bagua of your home so that you can match its requirements with your art. For example, an abstract piece of art in bright red and purple colors can create excellent feng shui when displayed in the South area of your living room. The same piece of art can create energetic havoc when displayed on your East wall.

4. Bedroom. In addition to the eight cardinal directions, the type of rooms also matter. Many experts agree that plants are NOT suitable in the bedroom, and their reasons vary. Some say it harms the luck and health of the home’s breadwinner, while others say that plants bring strong energies of growth, which contradicts with the energy needed to get a good night’s sleep. Further, some reasoned that the carbon dioxide produced by the plants at night can negatively affect our sleep.

Orange is fengshui’s color of choice when sociality, optimism, and openness are sought. Orange is also a part of the fire element color family and, as such, is an excellent option for when the energy from vibrant red needs to be downscaled a bit. The appeal of orange is universal and not tied to a particular climate or season – it represents the bright, carefree freedom of summertime, yet it just as seamlessly reminds us of cozy, firelit winter evenings.
This is exactly what I expected and I think it is super cute and that it looks great on my desk at work! It arrived fast and completely in tact. Mine only stands about 6'' tall, where it is advertised as 7", but I'm happy with it enough that I don't mind. I hope you all enjoy yours too, I can safely recommend the aventurine quartz one, as the different hues of light, medium, and dark gem stones look great in the tree!
For children’s beds, this might not apply, but for an adult, feng shui would have you leave sufficient room on either side of the bed for a safe and comfortable exit. This is common sense for a master bed that sleeps two, but it applies to beds for single sleepers as well. Remember, we’re encouraging positive chi and flow, and you don’t want good energy being stopped dead in its tracks on a wall side of the bed!
A wise use of mirrors can do wonders for any space. Being one of the most popular home decorating item, mirrors are used in any room— from the bathroom to the bedroom. Feng shui-wise, there are specific rules to the best use of mirrors in order to create good energy in your home. In addition to the fact that mirrors bring more light into any space, as well as visually make it look more spacious, mirrors bring the powerful presence of the Water feng shui element. As such, there are areas in your home that can much benefit from displaying a mirror or two, and there are also areas that will have better feng shui energy in them without a mirror.

Money Plant: Feng shui money tree is an indoor plant, botanical name is Pachira. It may not have money as part of its leaves, but it definitely makes you a wealthy person. You will find luck and wealth coming your way, or so Feng Shui says, if you have a money plant in your home. Of course, it is not just about raising a money plant in your house, it is also about directions. Feng shui bagua energy map, recommends northwest corner of your home for the Feng shui money plant. Money plant should be placed near the place where you keep your money at home.
Feng Shui is an ancient wisdom which has been accumulated since thousands of years ago, it is not just a superstition. It is a way to analyse the relationships amongst time, space and mankind. It is a way of life and can applied to everyone regardless the belief. Many of us want to incorporate Feng Shui at our homes, but don’t know how to begin with. So, welcome to the land of Feng Shui and get acquainted with our Feng Shui tools.
Does your entry door squeak or whine when you open or close it? The entry door is the first and last thing you encounter when coming or going from your home. The sound is as if the door is crying and this can affect your mood and well-being. Many people have become so accustomed to the sound that they don’t even notice it. Oil that door hinge and create more positive energy when you enter and leave your house. It’s also helpful to oil any other door hinges throughout the home, but the entry door is the most important.
Mainly, be aware that this annual feng shui star brings you inspiring energy to fulfill your career dreams. As mentioned before, it is best to find a way — a subtle way — to bring an image or an item here that sparks the vision for your career success. Be mindful to have this image in the best colors for this area in 2019, which are earthy colors, or, if it is a small image, use the Metal element colors (white and silver).  Of course, a combination of these colors and elements will work best!

Why? Kitchens should be happy active (Yang) spaces but they also already have a lot of fire and water. The best element to balance both is the earth element represented by earth tones and terra-cottas. These can be bright yellow, golds, rich terra-cotta or any other brighter color. The earth element supports being grounded. In kitchens we are working with fire and knives, which are unsafe. Using colors from the water element such as black, grey, dark blues, greens and browns promote a feeling of un-groundedness, and they can also be too depressing for what should be a more active and happy space.
1. Center of the House. The center area of your home belongs to the Earth element. Because Wood has the ability to weaken the Earth element, the center of your house is not the best place for indoor plants. This is not to say that placing plants there is completely out of the question. If you feel like the area can use some plants, place small ones instead of large ones.
Black, as the absorber of all other colors, is fengshui’s unknown and infinite color. Black represents water element, which makes sense when you consider that deep water is not blue but rather black. Black color, as void as it may seem, actually adds depth and strength to any space through its defining fengshui role. Energy will be directed and guided through a careful use of the color black.
A Northeast facing room loves the Fire and Earth feng shui elements and is connected to the energy of spiritual growth and cultivation. This golden Buddha wall mural expresses perfectly the best feng shui energy for the Northeast location. Color-wise, all earthy colors plus red, oranges, purple, magenta, as well as golden finishes are excellent here.
Adjusting the natural light coming through windows is another way to control the amount of the Fire element. If too much sunlight is coming through, particularly on the South side of the home, then using drapery or blinds is helpful. On the contrary, to allow more natural light, open window coverings. At night, windows take on a yin quality because they create a black hole effect. They actually pull energy out of spaces, so it is important to close window blinds or drapes at night.
The world has been created by the sound. Lord Chirst said that the world was created by the word and that word was "LORD". Even in our Guru Granth Saheb, it is said that Lord is the "SHABD". Every Mantra starts with the word "OM". This bell emits the sound, which created this world, and this bell is made up of 5 elements the world is made up of : EARTH, WATER, FIRE, AIR, ETHER. This sound of "OM" removes negative energies and enhance positive energies leaving you in a better frame of mind to deal with things positively.

I often suggest clients place two lucky bamboo stalks in a single vase of water in the relationship area of their bedroom. To locate this area, stand at your bedroom door facing into the room. The far back corner to the right is the relationship area. The pair symbolizes a harmonious union between you and your current or future partner. Both stalks are best similar in size as they also represent a balanced and equal relationship that can grow together in accord.

In this article, we’ll discuss a variety of basic colors and what they mean to the fengshui color spectrum. We’ll also provide examples of how to use each of these colors effectively. You might be surprised at how simple it is to improve the energy flow of your entire home by the incorporation of fengshui colors alone. The key is balance and customization to your style, your space, and yourself.

Feng shui is an ancient Eastern practice of arranging items in such a way as to create the maximum healthy and positive flow of energy. Although it has been around for hundreds, perhaps thousands, of years, fengshui has become a more desirable methodology for interior design in recent years, and all over the globe. The use of fengshui colors in your home and décor will definitely affect the energy throughout your space, so it is important to choose those colors, and their use, with care.

Feng shui blue is associated with peace, serenity, and calmness. As the primary color for water element, blue is a favorite fengshui color. There is a limitless potential when using blue in your fengshui space – from pale blue skies to aquamarine seas to indigo twilight. Blue is associated with a calming physical reaction, including slowed heart rate and breathing. Blue is excellent at inspiring contemplation, meditation, creativity, and privacy.
The feng shui fire element is expressed through bold warm colors like red, orange, and pink. Inciting passion and energy, the fire element can support career ambitions as well as sex drive—making it a smart choice for both the office and the bedroom. If you don't feel comfortable committing to red walls or painted red furniture, pops of red and orange through décor items can be a tasteful way to bring the energizing color into any space.
When water is controlled and used in balance, then it can have very positive effects on the feng shui of our house. The Water element adds a calming energy to interiors, which is why indoor water fountains are popular. Water is naturally purifying to the air and the sound of water can be very relaxing. This introspective quality is the gift of the Water element and can be incorporated into our spaces to provide a relaxing atmosphere.
You need to determine the facing direction of your home before you can correctly identify the direction of each room. A professional feng shui analysis is always best, but if you know the facing direction, you can determine each room's direction. To determine the facing direction, feng shui practitioners use a Luo Pan compass. If you don't have this kind of compass a Girl or Boy Scout compass works just as well.
Live plants have their own chi and will draw chi to them. Don't have a green thumb? "The next best thing is to showcase high-quality silk plants and flowers — not plastic," says Varone. The best places for plants are in the kitchen (between hot and cold appliances to create balance), in the dining room (to draw abundance), and in the family room (to promote health, life, and connection).
Brick is often used on the exterior of homes and as an accent finish in interiors. Brick is a composite of clay (Earth element) and sand (Metal element) and fired (Fire element) in a kiln. It combines all three of these elements. The color of the brick may help determine which element feels dominant. For example, red brick will feel more fiery, while a sand colored brick may look more like an Earth element, particularly with its rectangular shape.

Rectangular or square tables are OK in the dining room because, even though they have corners, no one will be sitting in front of a point, as they might with a coffee table. But if a circular or oval table fits perfectly, it's an excellent choice. Natural materials, like wood, feel solid and warm. The sound of glass hitting glass can cause tension. And people get overly protective with glass tables—anything too precious brings on nervous energy.
