Crystals are the powerhouses of good feng shui energy; they bring the essence of abundance from deep within the earth. If you are new to crystals, start with clear quartz, preferably in a rough/natural shape. Along with the clear quartz, there are 3 more crystals that can help you attract the energy of wealth: pyrite, citrine and amethyst. Pyrite is excellent as a wealth feng shui magnet, and reasonably easy to find and well priced. Genuine citrine tends to be pricey and a bit hard to find;  amethyst is easy to find, works very well on many levels, including purifying the energy in your home. If there are no crystal shops close to where you live, check our online selection of feng shui crystals (our store is powered by amazon.com).
The feng shui color of sunlight, cheerful and uplifting yellow will always brighten any home or office. Yellow color also creates cozy, welcoming feng shui energy in your kitchen, living room or children's rooms. From hot sunflower yellow to pale buttery yellow color tones―there are many options to choose from when you are planning to re-decorate your home.
"Family pictures don't belong in the bedroom," says Whitehurst. "It's the most intimate room in the house and should be reserved for you and your partner." Pictures of children, relatives, and friends may cause you to think about your obligations — and that doesn't allow the mind (or body) to rest. So keep only pictures of you and your spouse or partner in the bedroom, and put other pictures in the dining or family rooms.

Triangular-shaped décor items are not as common as other shapes. In fact, the points of a triangle can create what is called poison arrows. Poison arrow is the term used in feng shui for a sharp point of energy projecting into a space and results in inauspicious energy. However, if used intentionally, triangular or pyramid-shaped objects can add a positive spark of energy to spaces. For example, pyramid-shaped crystals can be used to enhance intention and focus in an office or meditation space.
Green is the fengshui representation of life, health, and growth. Green is part of the wood element family of colors. Found all throughout nature, green associates with growth, with its inherent motivation and action toward positive change. In fengshui, green is used to represent renewal, freshness, and rejuvenating energy. Balance is achieved – a key component of successful fengshui – with green’s deep-rooted place in the natural world.

Earth represents stability and nourishment – like Mother Earth. Incorporating a nurturing earth element into your space will help to bring peace, stability, and protection to you and your relationships. The earth element is also believed to play an important role in maintaining hope, health, and inner balance, as well as elevating mental activity. Earth colors are: beige/skin colors, sand tones, and light yellow.
The three deities should be placed side by side like the image shown above. Shou should be on the left of the viewer, Lu in the middle, and Fu on the far right, just as Chinese characters are traditionally written from right to left. However, Chinese are read and written from left to right today, and the placement order of the deities are reversed.
You might also consider these hues too strong to use for an entire room. So Frampton counts foyers (like this poppy pink one, designed by Jonathan Berger) and hallways as the perfect places to try them. "A hallway should have a dynamic energy — it's circulating people through the space, it's all about movement," she says. "So express that with a dynamic color!"

The rearranging step gives you time to organize and clarify what you really want. After you declutter, you may see your rooms in a whole different light. You may decide that a room needs an entirely different function. For example, after decluttering a guest bedroom, maybe you realize you would rather it be a home office instead. Or maybe after decluttering, you can finally move the bed to its optimal position with space to add nightstands. The point is to make any necessary adjustments in the feng shui of your house with what is remaining before adding new energy. This way, you will have more clarity about what new energy you want to bring into your space. Referring back to my refrigerator analogy, I probably should do the rearranging step even before I go to the grocery store to get an even better idea of what I want and need.
Make sure you have something representing the five elements — wood, earth, metal, fire, and water — in every room. The goal is to stay grounded, centered, and balanced in your life and your environment. For example, place a wooden bowl filled with stone pebbles alongside a candle and a vase of flowers. Or try to incorporate colors that symbolize the five elements:
Brings Luck, Education, Career, Children, Wealth etc. is for Family Harmony that every one carves for. This Dragon Tortoise on its back symbolizes a life worth living. Keep it in the "South East" for Financial Luck. Place it in your Home, Office or Desk. It will bring you a Wealth & Career Luck. You will also Blessed with many (obedient) sons. When displayed near the entrance of your Home, it will bring you a Long and a Happy Life.
Define the Bagua, or the feng shui energy map, of your house, by using one of the two main feng shui methods: the classical school Bagua or the BTB grid. Once you define the Bagua, you will know which areas of your home are connected to specific areas of your life. For example, in traditional feng shui, the Southeast feng shui area of your home is connected to the flow of money energy in your life.
Lucky bamboo plant is often associated with Feng Shui friendly plants. Lucky bamboo is easy to grow, doesn’t require a lot of sunlight, and because it can be grown in water it can be an excellent choice for bathrooms and kitchens. However, you don’t have to limit your choices to lucky bamboo when selecting a plant to use in your Feng Shui décor. Here are 9 additional Feng Shui friendly houseplants --
The color associated with Water in feng shui is black and shades of blue. We most commonly associate the color blue with water, which is really a reflection of the sky. This is also why the color black is associated with Water as well. If you think of water at night, reflecting the night sky, it is black. Depending on the moon phase, it will also have a reflective quality too.

One thing to remember when selecting feng shui colors for your home is color cannot activate a feng shui element. However, it is a nice design choice that's compatible with feng shui rooms. Choose feng shui colors that enhance compass elements, such as feng shui southeast colors or feng shui west colors. You can also select colors that are appropriate for specific room functions.
However, using plants for feng shui can get tricky. You’ll need to factor in the five elements, the type of room, and the directions. It’s not easy, but that’s the only way you can apply feng shui in a holistic way to get the best results that you desired for. Of course, the alternative is to get help from a professional so you won’t overlook any important factors when you feng shui yourself.
Before you start buying (or even moving) furniture, Cerrano advises that you first assess how you use your living room. To get the ball rolling, she suggests asking, "What activities will be taking place in the living room? Is it mainly used for enjoying leisurely activities, entertaining, working, or eating meals? Will guests use the space to sleep over? Or all of the above?"
So, the point I am emphasizing here is that for anything you bring into your home to work as a feng shui wealth cure  (or any other cure, for that matter), the item has to have a strong energy connection to you, and not to what other people say. If you do not like something, guess what – it does not like you back! Hardly a good feng shui energy dynamic. Next feng shui wealth color is purple and, just like with gold color, you can bring it with a variety of decor items. From painting to pillows, rugs or big book covers – see if this wealth feng shui color can be genuinely welcomed into your home. Use both colors tastefully and wisely, meaning create simple beauty and decorate with objects that you really like – this is how they will start working for you as intended.
A mirror in the dining room is an excellent addition. The point of the mirror is to double the abundance that the dining table represents. The activity that takes place in the dining room is the feeding of the family. That means there is always enough food to accomplish this purpose. A mirror reflecting the table and any food served on it then symbolically doubles the amount of food.
One thing you never want to place in a dining room is a clock. The presence of a clock in this room means you could run out of abundance as the clock ticks away or winds down. Some feng shui practitioners believe a clock in the dining room will lead to a rushed meal and be unhealthy. There are several other rooms where you can place a clock in your home.
Avoid Metal, Water and Fire element decorating. While Metal and Fire elements are never really recommended for the East area anyway, the Water element is usually very auspicious here. However, if you have a strong Water element in your decor already, do your best to make it more subtle/to subdue the power of Water here. The reason for avoiding a strong Water element in the East area in 2019 is the fact that Water is the element that weakens the Metal element, and you definitely do not want to weaken all the auspicious energy that the annual star brings!
There are several ways to incorporate feng shui and the five elements in spaces. Ideally, spaces should have a balance of the five elements as a whole, within each room, and even in small arrangements, i.e., a fireplace mantle. In the following sections, you will learn various ways to apply the five elements and feng shui your home. Applying the elements in your home can be used in tandem with feng shui using the Bagua Map or room-by-room based on the room’s function. The five elements can also be used to help balance out your own energy based upon your elemental constitution.
There are several ways to choose best bedroom colors with feng shui. You can define the best colors for your bedroom based on the bagua area your bedroom is located in (bagua is the feng shui energy map of any given space). You can go for the generally accepted best bedroom feng shui colors, which are all skin tones – from light porcelain to deep rich chocolate tones. You can also choose best bedroom colors based on your personal feng shui birth element. While you can choose just one way and still create good energy, ideally, you will work in 3 steps to define the best colors for your bedroom.
Interior designer Terri Tan drew up storage solutions in many areas to fulfil the homeowners' requirement. “The dining table was custom-designed to include storage in the table support. We even managed to have full-height storage integrated with the lift at every level,” she says. The dining area, cosy and warm, is infused with a luxe feel with leather, matte and glossy surfaces, as well as metallic finishes.

Even if your dream color looked perfect in the store, and passed all the tests when it comes to your view, your goals, and so on, it can read the wrong way once you're at home. "Sample three colors — the one you love, than one warmer and one cooler. Get a test pot or small sample and paint a 12" square on your wall. Observe it at different times of day before you make your final decision."

Shou should be on the left of the viewer, Lu in the middle, and Fu on the far right, just as Chinese characters are traditionally written from right to left. The feng shui bedroom should attract yin energy since it is a retreat and dedicated to rest. The best yin colors are blue and green. Yellow will revitalize while red will probably generate too much yang energy that excites and stimulates. Try to create a nice balance if you introduce the more energized properties of yang colors into your bedroom decor. You will want the yin energy colors to remain dominate for the most restive effect.

Hurrah! Spring is here! In feng shui philosophy, the spring season symbolizes new beginnings, growth, and expansion—like when the trees start to grow back their leaves. We use plants, the colors green and blue, as well as columnar and expansive shapes in feng shui to symbolize this type of energy. But in addition to making indoor spaces more attractive, did you know that houseplants also improve indoor air quality? Many houseplants remove harmful pollutants from the air that off gas from synthetic materials found in our buildings, furniture, and even clothing. These toxins can lead to poor health and low productivity. Adding plants to a space can also help create a softer and more vibrant energy, and they can heal us visually and physically—their natural green tones are relaxing and therapeutic. Now that the new season has sprung, infuse some positive energy into your home and adopt a houseplant this spring. Below are the three houseplants commonly used in feng shui adjustments.

Water fountain comes in all shapes and sizes. It can be used both indoors and outdoors. Some recommended areas for placement, according to the Bagua, include East, Southeast, and North. However, water feature is not recommended in the bedroom because bedroom favors calamity. Also, placement is not recommended in the kitchen because of the conflict between its Water element and the kitchen’s Fire element.

What if rejuvenating your life was as simple as moving a few things around? According to the ancient Chinese art of feng shui (pronounced "fung shway"), it is. Based on the idea that your living space reflects your life, feng shui strives to achieve balance in both. Feng shui holds that all objects possess an energy called chi, and that you can use this chi to bring luck, wealth, and opportunity into your home. "With feng shui, you don't have to spend 20 years on the couch [with a therapist] to change your life – you just have to move the couch," says Ellen Whitehurst, author of Make This Your Lucky Day: Fun and Easy Secrets and Shortcuts to Success, Romance, Health, and Harmony (Random House, January 2008). Try these ten tips to get that energy flowing.
SOUTH WEST AND NORTH EAST- Using "Earth" or "Fire" colors in the southwest will nourish your love relationship or marriage. If you are looking for your prince charming or snow white then this sector is very important. In the north east sector when you use "Earth" or "Fire Colors" in the north east improves your education luck and helps you in clear thinking and decision making.
Bedroom - The color of your bedroom will depend upon your age, personal goals, and whether your room is the master bedroom or not. Pink is best for a master bedroom, because the marriage position on the bagua is placed between fire (red) and metal (white), and pink is the blending of these two colors. Pink or red sheets and blankets ensure a “fiery” marriage bed.
The Year of the Pig brings fortune and luck in making money to all who are responsible and optimistic. People who are born in one of following years: 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007, 2019, 2031, 2043 are born under the Pig sign and benefit from this symbol even more.  Their investments are efficient, and relationships get strong in 2019. The year of the Earth Pig is excellent for investments, starting a family, making new friends. 2019 is the year full of joy and love for all the zodiac signs. The Eart Pig sign attracts success in all areas of life.
The Earth element is the container for all the other elements and so baskets and pots are considered to be Earth elements. Even a house itself as a whole is considered to be an Earth element because it is in essence a container. If a space is feeling cold and sterile, adding Earth elements is a great to warm it up and make it feel cozy. Earth element people make us feel safe and secure and so does a space with Earth elements. However, in the same way that an Earth element person can make us feel smothered and constricted so too can an improperly balanced space with too many Earth elements.
As a feng shui consultant, I often hear stories from clients where sudden changes occur as soon as they move into a new space. Even if not familiar with feng shui, they can sense the direct relationship with something about the house affecting their luck, so to speak. The feng shui of the homes we choose to live in play an important role in our destiny while living there. The good news is that these imbalances can usually be remedied through feng shui. The five elements can be used as a remedy or a preventative medicine tool for you and your home. As you balance the five elements within a space, its occupants will receive the benefits. The healthier the feng shui of your home, the healthier you’ll be too.
This is a very important room when it comes to creating abundance. You want the color scheme to promote the positive aspects of the activities taking place. The nourishment of the body is the utmost activity, but there is also a social component with the interaction of the family and/or friends partaking in meals. To accomplish this, the best feng shui dining room colors include:
The bamboo is widely represented in Chinese art, literature and poetry and is believed to have the power to ward off malign spirits if displayed in the home in the form of, for example, wind chimes or flutes. It also symbolizes durability and endurance (because it flourishes throughout the year) and a bamboo clump on the left side of your home to signify the dragon is highly auspicious. Planted near the front of the home, it attracts auspicious Chi flows.

This step is really easy: do not forget to have at least some decor items in skin color tones to create warm, good feng shui in your bedroom. The truth is, skin color tones also work best as bedroom wall colors, because they create an energy similar to an embrace. The energy of skin color tones is the earthy, warm, nourishing energy that we all need, especially during nighttime. Read: Get To Know the Feng Shui Color Wheel

The 2019 feng shui cures are applied on February 4th. Why? Because feng shui cures are usually applied on the Solar New Year (February 4th, 2019), not the Lunar New Year (February 5, 2019). Of course, you can also apply them at any time in 2019! The principle of “better late than never” sure applies when it comes to creating good feng shui in your space. Start with a clean and orderly home first; do not apply the yearly feng shui cures –- in fact, do not apply any feng shui cures -– if your house has chaotic energy created by clutter and lack of order/cleanliness.

To be more specific, the dragon turtle is used to improve social relationships and prevent unnecessary dramas. Dragon turtle can also help with career advancements and is especially helpful those who work in the fields of public relations, sales, and other jobs that require lots socializing. To use the dragon turtle with these purposes, place it on your office desk with its head facing outward.
The best way we can positively contribute to achieving balance on the planet—clearly so much larger than ourselves—is to take care of what we do have control over, that is, our own spaces: our body and our homes with the art and science of feng shui. We each have our own cycle of the five elements taking place within ourselves constantly striving for balance. For example, the specific goal of acupuncture is to correct imbalances of the five elements within us and to properly promote the flow of chi throughout the body. Each organ system and meridian line correlates to one of the five elements.
There are many aspects and variables that come into play in designing a space with feng shui in mind. (Check out homedit’s previous articles on incorporating feng shui into the office and bedroom.) Color plays a particularly important role. In fact, each color is an expression of one of the five elements of feng shui. You may have heard of them: fire, earth, metal, water, and wood. Color is used in specific areas of the home intentionally so as to bring about positive chi and harmony.
It is not advisable to put water or water feature inside the bedroom as it will have after effects. Feng shui is not a simple subject where items are literal representation of items. Yes it does work sometimes but it depends on a case to case basis. So I really hope that only through proper professional advice, will then people take action or else the consequences will be dire.
One popular way to choose your best bedroom color is to take a look at your closet and see which colors you wear the most. While this sounds interesting and it sure can be helpful, what if you wear colors that you just can’t picture on your bedroom walls? Black bedroom color wall paint might work for some (and even look chic if you are working with a talented designer), but I would sure not recommend it as a good bedroom color!
The Wood element is a very common element used in interiors. Trees provide us with an abundance of wood that is used to create common furnishings in interiors. Because Wood is extremely sturdy, while also malleable and easy to shape, it is used in many forms within a home, from the framing of a house to the furniture to the flooring. In areas where trees and lumber processing are more easily accessible, homes are often made of wood, called stick construction.
Moving objects are considered powerful cures in feng shui. If you want to bring strong activation to this area, you can find an appropriate decor item that creates a sense of movement here. This can be an item that moves by itself from time to time (such as a wind chime placed outside and moved by gentle wind) or a wind chime that is activated by your touch. In 2019, you can have a small metal bell or a small singing bowl here that you use from time to time to create sound movement. If you are lucky to have a crystal bowl, this is an excellent cure for the East area in 2019!
When glass is used for dinnerware, for example a drinking glass, it is combined with the container shape of the Earth element. In fact, almost all Water elements in interiors will be combined with other elements for support. Water is usually used as an accent, in combination with at least one other element in a home with proper feng shui. For example, in the case of windows, the stability of wood or metal is necessary to support it. This is an example of how the elements work together in the five elements cycle.

Each element has its own unique characteristics as to how it is expressed in the world. Each element also plays a vital role in the cycle of life. All living beings experience the cycles of birth and rebirth, waning and waxing, growth and death, and yin and yang. This process is referred to as the five elements cycle, and it can be seen in all aspects of life including the seasons, time of day, age, moon cycles, planetary orbits, and of course literal birth and death. We as a society tend to forget or at least overlook the importance of death. Nature however knows that birth would not be possible without death, just as light would not be possible without the dark. Again, it is all about balance where the labels “good” and “bad” have no relevance.

The idea that feng shui is about adding things to your home has been perpetuated in our consumer-centric world. Be it frogs, roosters, ducks, crystals, or flutes, adorning one’s home with objects to bring good luck is a misconception of what feng shui is and its potential effects. Whether you are looking to overhaul your life or simply make decorative changes, there is a process. We often think that adding something new to our house or life will create needed change. But in fact, there are two steps before this. Otherwise, you will still have the current situation but with the addition of new things or situations. This is one source of clutter in our homes and overwhelm in our lives.
RT: Start by listening to the space and seeing what colors it needs. Then, look at the feng shui guidelines. For example, an east facing room is treated very differently in feng shui than a north facing one because each direction needs a specific element in order to thrive energetically. Then, of course, play and experiment until you choose only what makes your heart jump for joy!
The color pink, in the fengshui scheme, represents love, but a more sweet and gentle type of love than red’s passionate, romantic love. Pink is part of the fire element’s representation. As the universal color of love and a delicate shade in and of itself, fengshui pink has a beautifully softening effect on any space…and a soothing effect on any person.

Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese practice that involves arranging your environment in a way that allows the energy (or Chi) to flow smoothly through it. This energy is made up of five elements (Wood, Earth, Fire, Metal, and Water), and its believed that the flow of this energy can have considerable effects on your finances, health, happiness, and personal relationships. Whether you believe that it is the flow of the chi, or that the ancient practice tapped into great design and sense of proportion, the practice can definitely has a positive impact on design.
It's hard to rest with too much active energy around you. You have to be aware, for example, of what electricity is running behind your bed. Try to minimize it with a battery-operated alarm clock instead of an electric one. Turn off your phone at night and keep it out of the room. No laptop or computer near the bed. An hour before you go to sleep, stop looking at it.
