When it comes to the colors on your walls, use white if you tend to find it very difficult to concentrate because you are in your comfortable home environment. And when it comes to elements, use water to inspire communication, metal to encourage prosperity, earth to promote long-standing relationships and balance in the workplace, fire to boost productivity, and wood to allow your creativity to flow.
Cultivating the West of your desk is imperative to stimulate creative ideas, and provocative, new solutions to propose everyday problems experienced by your department. (Guaranteed to impress your boss!) Despite whether or not your occupation is considered “creative,” heightening alternative thinking will open new door in every plane of your life, in and outside of the office.
When it comes to desk materials, wood and metal are the best choice as they symbolize stability and peak mental performance. Glass desks and tables (like those offered by Lexus or Arkitek) on the other hand, symbolize transparency, but they also allow a faster energy flow, so be sure to coat them with wooden accessories or potted plants for a dose of stability. Laminate desks are energy neutral and won’t impact your performance significantly.
Be very careful when positioning your office plants feng shui. Certain directions, such as the north, southwest, Northwest, and northeast can be weakened by a strong wood element. Therefore, only moderate amounts of plants are recommended for these areas. However Bagua areas nourished by the wood element, such as the east, southeast and south are wonderful areas to place plants if you want the best positive chi.
Incorporating wood element could be achieved through the arrangement of real plants, plant inspired artwork or artificial flowers. How about wood flooring, panels and furniture, do they count? Yes. Yet, when it comes to feng shui we are even more interested in replicating or actually using real natural elements inside the home. Below is a list of 4 plants you could include into your home.
Thanks for the tip. In my office, we do not have the freedom to choose and shift our desk. So it ended up that this newcomer’s desk was place directly opposite mine and I can immediately feel the fengshui went wrong. I was looking up on what to do since there is no choice about moving desk (we had very limited space) and will definitely try place the barrier (probably use the portable whiteboard and putting plants on my desk)
Kitchens hold special importance in the practice of Feng Shui, alongside bedrooms and entrances. Traditionally, they represent a place of nourishment and family. In an office setting, they are important because they offer employees a space to relax, regenerate and feed their mind. In Feng Shui, kitchens are ideally placed away from main entrances and bathrooms to promote good "chi". Changing the positioning of the kitchen in your office space may not be possible—but managers can use strategically placed furniture, greenery or art to liven up break areas.
Wooden desks are very creative but may be too unfocused. In feng shui, the wood element carries a more wild, chatty, creative energy, which can get a little frenetic for an office space. You can rein in your focus with a sparkly crystal on your desktop (spirit quartz and shimmering pyrite are my top picks) and/or some metallic desk accessories that have more organized, uniform energy.
