According to feng shui, a room's color should be in accordance with the cardinal direction it faces. But how do you find that out? "In order to properly assess this direction, stand in the center of your home and with the aid of a compass, find the direction of your home office. Then, choose colors harmonious with that direction." Ready to find the paint color for your workspace that will bring you productivity and prosperity? Brown gives us the lowdown on feng shui office colors according to their cardinal direction.
Beyond the layout, Cerrano also recommends paying attention to colors and materials in your space. "Be mindful with the style of desk and material you choose," she says. "A rectangular wooden desk is commonly the best recommendation in feng shui. The material brings natural energy into your space, while also cultivating a nourishing and vibrant quality of energy. If you prefer a standing desk, consider researching a wooden design. In general, the size, style, and color depends on the overall room structure and intended office environment. As a side note, you may also want to consider purchasing a desk that has soft or rounded edges—even if in a rectangular or L-shape design."
Gordon also adds that where you put your plants can have an impact on your mental clarity and suggests understanding your home's bagua map (aka feng shui's floor plan to bringing good intentions to your home). "Plants are more at home in some areas such as health and family, or wealth and reputation," she shares. "They are less at home in other areas, such as creativity, mentors, career, self-knowledge, or love and marriage." "Prior to arranging any furniture, ask yourself, what is the function of my home office? Is the purpose of use for writing, marketing, web-design, or accounting? Or perhaps its geared toward the creative profession of fine arts or music production? This begins the processes of becoming decisive in piecing together a strong foundation within your office's energy field," explains Cerrano.
Energy, or "chi" is one of the fundamental concepts in feng shui, and being able to increase the chi at your desk is important. More chi means greater prosperity and security for you, ensuring your success and happiness. Place an object in the wrong spot, and the chi is disrupted, and you will need to re-implement feng shui for the office desk at your office desk.

You want to take command of your room and need to place your desk so you can see everyone who enters. This is the position of power and gives you control. If you hold important business meetings in your office and need to win over clients, coworkers and your boss, make sure you take the North sector of your office during the meetings. North is the controlling direction and whenever opposed by any other direction; the North is said to always win.

Tending to the abundance sector of your space will help ring in that raise you’ve been pining for! Promote the growth of your wealth (and internal happiness) by introducing a plant. Philodendrons bloom wonderfully in office spaces, as do succulents which are drought resistant and don’t take up too much space, when potted appropriately (in a small planter, that is.)
Decorating your office should be fun, but there should also be purpose behind it if you are planning on using feng shui to improve your business. Hang motivational artwork that encourages hard work and team collaborations on the northwest and west walls of your office space. The southwest area of your space, which is the area associated with relationships, on the other hand, should include a minimal amount of family portraits, which can otherwise be distracting. To generate more wealth, place plants in the southeast and east sides of the office, making sure the plants are tall and reach for the sky, such as bamboo. And if you prefer to keep live plants out of your office, you can go with silk versions or even photographs and artwork that will generate the same type of energy. And, finally, on the north wall, put up artwork, or add a small water fountain, that focuses on the energy of moving water. This will serve to energize your career.
Feng shui (pronounced "fung shway") is the ancient Chinese practice of arranging physical objects to attract positive energy. It’s based on the idea that everything in a person’s surrounding environment affects his or her inner life. Feng shui practitioners believe that the placement of objects in a room, building, or other space will affect the flow of chi (life force or essential energy) within the space. If there’s good chi flowing, whoever’s in the space will get a boost of positive energy. Pretty sweet, right?

The feng shui expert notes that paying attention to what you want to attract and visually displaying those goals in your space can have an impact on your overall motivation and subsequent success. "Feng shui encourages you to learn more about yourself and discover the necessary knowledge, skills, and connections that need development for nurturing your goals. As you do this, you become more curious, motivated, inspired, and productive. Those sparks of interest could then be visually translated inside your office to offer an abundance of beneficial psychological cues."
I personally have doubts on how items can help with Feng Shui. The important thing is to be aware that the Feng Shui will affect your relationship (assuming you did your Feng Shui audit and analysis correctly). If you’re aware, you can make strides to make improvements and weather the storm. See “Human Luck” for reference here: https://fengshuinexus.com/blog/cosmic-trinity-feng-shuis-influence-limitations/
"Once you have a clearer vision for the function of your office and understand what pieces of furniture you need, you can establish the arrangement of furniture," says Cerrano. She recommends starting with the desk position and building outward from there. "Essentially, you are looking for the best commanding position, which allows the occupant to literally, energetically, and metaphorically see and feel who and what opportunities are approaching their life. Positioning your desk inside any office could symbolize avoiding collaborations with unbeneficial business partners and signing contracts or agreements that are one-sided."

Citrus and limes are considered symbols of good health, longevity, wealth, and prosperity. Along with the lucky bamboo and money plants, decorating a citrus or lime in the home during the Chinese New Year is said to foster good fortune for the family and business in the upcoming year. Citrus and limes are frequently grown as a bonsai or bought as artificial plants.

A cubicle is a much trickier Feng Shui situation than an office room. Cubicles are unfortunate paradigms of vulnerability for the individual worker. One of the chief problems is that you don’t use a real desk but work from a countertop, unless you work in one of the large manager type cubicles. However, you can do plenty to improve your situation. By judiciously applying Feng Shui cures, you may find yourself in your own office sooner than you imagined. (See Figure 1 for cure placements.)
Explore our office feng shui tips and choose at least several feng shui cures that you can easily implement in your specific office space. These feng shui cures do not have to be dramatic, even a couple air purifying plants and smart feng shui images plus a better positioning of your office desk can do wonders for your well-being, and ultimately contribute to your career success.
