It gives best results in the loose soil with a lot of drainage holes and hence, while planting, ensure that the pot has enough drainage facilities. Keep watering the plants regularly without fail. In between the watering, look after the fact that avoids drying of the top soil.  As it prefers indirect sunlight, people should keep the plant away from the direct sunlight. It requires the temperature between 65 to 70 degrees to grow well.
Can I have a plant inside my bedroom? The response to this question will vary from feng shui expert to expert. From a scientific perspective, the plant absorbs carbon dioxide and releases oxygen at night. Why does this matter? When sleeping, this could a plant exception to the principle of ‘no plants inside your bedroom.’ Its advised not to add too many, as the purpose of plant metaphorically is to stimulate the energy. Perhaps one, maybe two, at the most and keep them at a distance from your bed.
Feng shui can be applied to any type of work environment, even a cubicle. The same principles apply every time, and using a bagua is a great way to focus on areas that need improvement with the help of colors and elements. Once you have established a work environment that allows you to sit down and focus on your work and enjoy every minute of it, you can then begin expanding feng shui techniques into other areas of your life. For example, to ignite your love life or improve an existing romantic relationship, you can take a course on feng shui specifically for love. Or you can learn how to use feng shui in your home to promote peace, health, and joy within your family. Just have fun and maintain balance to reap the most benefits from this ancient system.
All plants belong to the Wood element, and experts use them as a way to balance the elemental energy of a specific area. For instance, it can help boost the energy level of an area associated with wood, or weaken an area associated with water. But of course, there are other factors to consider when balancing the five elements, which we will discuss later.
After you map out the sections, ask yourself which parts of your life and/or business are most important to you or perhaps need some more attention. If there is any specific section you want to focus on in your life, try putting items that promote that related section of the bagua map. For instance, if you want to focus on your family, add a photo of them or place a plant in the “Family & Community” section.

2. Generates Happiness. Multiple studies have cited that plants in the workplace increased employee satisfaction. Further, flowers are found to have the greatest impact. Research conducted at Rutgers shows that flowers have an immediate impact on happiness. The researchers were even shocked, because 100% of the people responded to flowers with a true or excited smile.
The color white is considered to be among the list of supreme colors from the ancient yogi tradition and is of the metal element. White vibrates with high intensity and represents purity, new possibilities, focus and cleanliness. Making an office entirely white is often too intense, causing occupants to become unsettled, hyper-focused and stressed. This is why it is best to use it as an accent color. For example, if you were to paint your walls terra cotta or light blue you could paint the doors and trim white to add just enough purity and crispness to the existing color scheme to simply enhance the other attributes of the primary color scheme. This makes white an ideal accent color for any type of office environment.
While there are few to no scientific findings that look at the effectiveness of feng shui directly (just, you know, thousands of years of Chinese tradition), some research backs up the practice’s basic principles. One study suggests that getting more organized can improve time management, which helps boost productivity at work Time management for today’s workplace demands. Thomack, B. Matrix Absence Management, Phoenix, AZ. Workplace Health and Safety, 2012 May;60(5):201-3. And psychology research found that adding natural elements—such as sunlight, green plants, and physical movement—to the workplace can boost employee health, happiness, and productivity Evolution in the office: how evolutionary psychology can increase employee health, happiness, and productivity. Fitzgerald, CJ and Danner, KM. Department of Psychology, Oakland University. Evolutionary Psychology, Dec 20;10(5):770-81. How’s that for some positive energy?

Above all, tackling your storage needs and limiting visual clutter can do a lot to boost your productivity. "Understand the use of your office, and you'll know the type of storage that is needed," says Cerrano. "Do you need to have hard copies? If so, file cabinets and closets tend to offer great storage space. Perhaps a low-sitting bookcase is best or simple shelving along the wall. If you wish to connect more with the digital age, you could store files on your computer and on an external drive. When in doubt, keep what you need, and release what you don't need. This may sound elementary, and yet it's an extremely powerful habit to adopt that transcends your physical, mental, emotional, and energetic bodies."
The placement of desks in a space can have a large effect on your staff's work output. The arrangement can affect everything from exposure to natural light to a staff member's perspective on the whole office. Feng Shui practices recommend placing desks in positions that face the entry point of the room. Placing staff in front of walls or dividers can hinder creativity and block inspiration. Instead, placing desks so staff members have a wide view of the room with their backs facing a wall can improve a sense of trust in the space. This is considered the "command position" that allows a person to feel a sense of control over their own environment.

As a rule of (green!) thumb, in feng shui we generally prefer plants with soft and rounded leaves. This shape offers a softer and gentler energy. Plants with sharp leaves, thorns, or spiky needles are best avoided for feng shui applications. That said, there are absolutely situations that they may be appropriate for. And if you already have such plants in your home this does not mean you need to remove them. For example, maybe you have a great attachment to a cactus that you received from your grandmother years ago. But in general if you want to add a plant into your home with a feng shui intention, go for something less prickly.

If you are hoping for a raise or looking to close a big business deal, metal elements should be put in the western corner of the room and can be used to bring on an increase in financial success, income, or profits. Metal objects can be made of metal or just colored to represent them. Design elements made of stone, metals, or marble will give the impression of professionalism and success.
As Feng Shui is concerned with how you arrange your environment, you should also carefully consider where you place your plants. Although cacti are often said to cause arguments because of their spikes, they actually shield you from negative energy. However, they need to be placed in lower traffic areas of the workplace, such as washrooms. In fact, as this area attracts negative energy, placing a cactus in the bathroom is one of the best things you can do to improve it.
The feng shui expert notes that paying attention to what you want to attract and visually displaying those goals in your space can have an impact on your overall motivation and subsequent success. "Feng shui encourages you to learn more about yourself and discover the necessary knowledge, skills, and connections that need development for nurturing your goals. As you do this, you become more curious, motivated, inspired, and productive. Those sparks of interest could then be visually translated inside your office to offer an abundance of beneficial psychological cues."
Feng shui isn’t a magic formula; rather, it provides a visual reminder of the areas of life that you value or are working to improve. Chin notes that feng shui is a “matter of perspective, a way of thinking or creating balance in our lives.” Start by following the guidelines above as a way to add positivity and balance to your desk—and to your life!

Wealth and Prosperity The back left corner of the desk represents prosperity. Target this space to attract money and abundance. It’s a great place for a plant, but if your green thumb is more on the brown side, consider placing a valuable item (such as a crystal vase or jar of change) in this corner. This could also be a good spot for a (well-functioning) computer.
Native to Africa, snake plant is categorized under the plants family Asparagacea with scientific name Sansevieria, it is very popular houseplant. It has several local names such as snake plant, mother-in-law’s tongue, viper’s bowstring hemp etc. As per Feng Shui, it is considered to bring good luck. It was part of NASA Clean Air Study and found effective in improving indoor air quality by removing benzene, formaldehyde, trichloroethylene, xylene and toluene.
Improper lighting: Like the majority of office workers, if you suffer under fluorescent lighting, you can use a couple helpful hints. You may be able to replace the tubes yourself with healthier full-spectrum ones (also called “grow lights”) from the hardware store. If you can’t replace them, bring in some supplemental incandescent light in the form of floor or table lamps. Working solely with overhead light is uncomfortable for the eyes, and supplemental lighting is a source of relief for your eyes and mind.
It’s said that the practice of feng shui decorating encourages good chi—also known as positive energy—to flow smoothly through a room, which in turn benefits its occupants. The better the chi, the more cleansing and positive experience your clients will have in counseling. While every room could use feng shui, it is particularly useful in a private practice where clients are coming in for help. The more positive energy, the better!
To create a calming and safe environment for your clients, incorporate the five Chinese elements of wood, fire, earth, metal and water into the space your sessions take place. You can do this by bringing in decorations or furniture of each element. Or, you can accomplish this by strategically choosing a wall color that aligns with one of the five elements.
Never ever sit with your back to the door. This is a big feng shui don't. The reason is you can't see what's coming up behind you. You could become the victim of office politics and backstabbing. If the configuration of your office is a cubicle and not something you can control, then place a mirror on your desk so it reflects what's directly behind you. This way you won't be startled or blindsighted by unexpected business turns.
"Once you have that initial question answered, ask yourself, how many pieces of functional furniture do I really need within my office? This helps weed out unnecessary clutter and guide you to utilize furniture that contributes to your productiveness and sharp focus when occupying that space." The feng shui expert notes that investing time in establishing an office environment that speaks to the level of respect, motivation, and growth you envision for yourself is one of the best and easiest ways to bring good feng shui energy to your space.
Oh Dear, I am now at command position no 2, with my right side is half wall ( with drawers ) and half window ( upper side ), how you would say if someone ask me to change to command position no 1 which actually would make me facing the door but the window would be at my back, as I believe the back side would be better a solid wall, how do you think about it?
For many years, Feng Shui colors have been considered to be powerful tools when it comes to creating the best environments. Whether you are an executive with a busy and demanding job, or if you are new to working in an office, there are many ways in which Feng Shui elements can help you to create a good office environment. Offices don’t often give many opportunities to use color, but using the elements, it is possible to create a more positive working environment.
"Prior to arranging any furniture, ask yourself, what is the function of my home office? Is the purpose of use for writing, marketing, web-design, or accounting? Or perhaps its geared toward the creative profession of fine arts or music production? This begins the processes of becoming decisive in piecing together a strong foundation within your office's energy field," explains Cerrano.
Orchids are graceful flowering plants. The flowers are long lasting and come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and colors. They can bloom all year round, even in the coldest winter. Orchids not only absorb carbon dioxide but they release oxygen at night, which make them ideal for bedrooms. They can also help us sleep better because of this fact. But there’s another reason why they are excellent to place in the bedroom. For feng shui purposes, we often use orchids for relationship adjustments. While the bamboo can be used for a current or prospective relationship, the orchid is more often used to find a new partner. An orchid placed strategically in the relationship area of the bedroom or on your nightstand will help to attract an honorable and honest romantic partner.

Because it has the power to increase productivity and happiness, Feng Shui is a great practice to bring into the workplace, and one simple way to do this is by introducing a number of office plants that help Feng Shui. This is because plants enhance the Wood element, which symbolises relationships and new beginnings, while their natural green is said to have a calming and relaxing influence on people.
