Thanks, Victor! The kitchen is in the front of the house and the house does actually face northeast. If the kitchen is not “draining away career luck” per what I read, what feng shui elements can enhance career? Interestingly, our front door opens to a split staircase, i.e., the right hand stir case going up to the main living area and the left hand stair case going down to the basement.

If your working position (whether at home or in the office) is near or backed into a corner, place a small miniature plant in front of your table to bring positive energy to a stagnant area.  You will be able to work better and this will boost your health and stamina. Avoid cactus or any plants with thorns or too many flowers (this could be more of a hindrance than a help). Make sure you use real plants as fake plants can attract negative energy or even lower your current mood and self-esteem.
Yes, your Feng Shui instincts are excellent — I would definitely suggest placing a mountain behind you to place something between you and the window panes. One of my favorite additional adjustments in cases like this is to hang a protective textile over the back of your chair. Use something that has dark, grounding earth tones like golden brown; it will make you feel more secure immediately.
Home Feng Shui is essential but we also cannot forget about the office Feng Shui too. Why? Office is considered our second home since we usually spend around 8 hours or more daily there, so keeping out for the Feng Shui Do’s and Don’ts is essential too. We will share some tips for office Feng Shui here and hope you will benefit from them and be more happy.
In a counseling practice, it’s important your clients feel comfortable and safe in your office, which is why you purchased those extra plush seats, stocked the space with tissues, and hung calming paintings on the wall. You even bring in healthy snacks to keep in your waiting room. But how much thought have you given to the color you painted on those walls? When you rent or lease a space, it’s likely you use whatever color is already on the walls. Even if you recently purchased space for a new practice, changing the wall color may be the very last item on your to-do list. However, it’s time to rethink that decision and use feng shui office colors as the base for decorating your space.
"Feng shui emphasizes the harmony with one's internal and external environment and the world at large," he explains. "Creating this harmony is particularly important when assessing the color of one’s home office, the place in the home where wealth and abundance are of paramount importance." So how exactly should you choose the ideal feng shui office colors? Brown recommends answering one simple question: Which cardinal direction does your home office face?
assume the power position. in shui, the ideal placement for a desk is to face the doorway – a little off to the side instead of directly in line with the door. ideally, when arranging an office, we want the solid support of a wall or heavy furniture behind us, like it’s “got our back.” this also allows you to see anyone entering the office which eliminates experiences like not seeing what’s coming up behind you; constant exhaustion; people talking behind your back; and/or feeling left out of the loop.
Once you have a full view of any incoming opportunities, it’s time to tackle the desk's surface. Chances are there’s a bit of clutter, which Cerrano defines as “anything unfinished, unresolved, tolerated, or disorganized.” Clear the clutter and organize things in a way that suits your work style and personal preferences. Cerrano suggests organizing by date or category, using colored binders if that appeals to you. Getting organized can boost productivity, while clearing clutter can provide a space that allows creativity to flow Time management for today’s workplace demands. Thomack, B. The "wealthy" plants in feng shui are not particularly air-cleaning, but they are gorgeous and great for anchoring your intention in a room. Some of the more wealth-symbolic plants are succulents, jade, and "lucky" bamboo. That being said, if a plant, tree, or anything symbolic chosen for "feng shui" reasons doesn’t inspire you, it’s not really worth getting. Let love rule your plant choices.
