"Once you have that initial question answered, ask yourself, how many pieces of functional furniture do I really need within my office? This helps weed out unnecessary clutter and guide you to utilize furniture that contributes to your productiveness and sharp focus when occupying that space." The feng shui expert notes that investing time in establishing an office environment that speaks to the level of respect, motivation, and growth you envision for yourself is one of the best and easiest ways to bring good feng shui energy to your space.

If possible, place your desk directly opposite the front door of your office. If you don’t have a private office, try to orient your desk to face the main door. Cerrano calls this a “commanding position.” If your boss isn’t willing to accept furniture rearrangement in the name of chi, Cerrano says that arranging a small mirror on your desk to reflect the office’s entrance is the next best thing. “According to the principles of feng shui, this arrangement offers protection and symbolizes you seeing opportunities as they come to you during your career,” Cerrano says. In other words, you have to be able to see opportunities in order to seize them.

"In the bedroom, make it work by adding patterns into the mix, or painting only one wall black — the one behind the bed, as a grounding element," Frampton explains. Or add some luminosity, as seen here in a New York City kitchen Frampton designed: "This backsplash has an iridescent quality — as you move, the light catches it. That counteracts that black and softens the whole look."
It is commonly called as crassula ovate and are creatures that gives small flowers. One of the key principles of feng shui is achieving happiness. One of the the easiest steps towards achieving this is through organizing and removing clutter around the office. The idea is that clearing away clutter helps bring in vital energy which promotes clarity and focus. Overall, 50% of your desk should be cleared. You want to be able to arrive at a clean desk when you get to work and leave with a clean desk at the end of the day. Taking the extra time to organize things correctly and efficiently will help you from having to do it again in a few months.
To create a calming and safe environment for your clients, incorporate the five Chinese elements of wood, fire, earth, metal and water into the space your sessions take place. You can do this by bringing in decorations or furniture of each element. Or, you can accomplish this by strategically choosing a wall color that aligns with one of the five elements.

Well, everything is possible, but of course, you have to work with what you have. Sometimes there are many hidden opportunities where you least see them, so let me share with you 2 important feng shui factors in finding the best positioning for your office desk. You decide if you can apply these tips in your own office space and with your own specific desk style and measurements.
The Feng Shui Ying Yang symbol pictured above represents the translated meaning of Feng Shui, which is “wind” and “water”. Feng Shui office designs incorporate some common sense and basic design ideas like a clutter free and organized office space. However, Feng Shui goes beyond that to positively influence employees, customers, clients, and guests who visit your office space by allowing for the flow of chi, or life force.
Benko recalls a client whose family photo was hindering rather than inspiring her. Even though the photo was taken during a vacation, the client revealed it was a very stressful time. "The kids were hungry and they felt forced to pose for the picture, so every time she looked at that picture, subconsciously she was feeling the stress and anxiety of that moment," says Benko.

Feng shui can be applied to any type of work environment, even a cubicle. The same principles apply every time, and using a bagua is a great way to focus on areas that need improvement with the help of colors and elements. Once you have established a work environment that allows you to sit down and focus on your work and enjoy every minute of it, you can then begin expanding feng shui techniques into other areas of your life. For example, to ignite your love life or improve an existing romantic relationship, you can take a course on feng shui specifically for love. Or you can learn how to use feng shui in your home to promote peace, health, and joy within your family. Just have fun and maintain balance to reap the most benefits from this ancient system.

Once you have a full view of any incoming opportunities, it’s time to tackle the desk's surface. Chances are there’s a bit of clutter, which Cerrano defines as “anything unfinished, unresolved, tolerated, or disorganized.” Clear the clutter and organize things in a way that suits your work style and personal preferences. "Whether grown in an indoor patio, on a balcony, or outdoors, the orange tree will bring abundance into your home. It should be placed in your wealth or health gua. Citrus trees are believed to be very lucky. I used to have a grapefruit tree that grew so large, we could provide the entire neighborhood with fruit year-round. This is the true meaning of abundance: when you can provide enough for yourself and others."
Decorating your office should be fun, but there should also be purpose behind it if you are planning on using feng shui to improve your business. Hang motivational artwork that encourages hard work and team collaborations on the northwest and west walls of your office space. The southwest area of your space, which is the area associated with relationships, on the other hand, should include a minimal amount of family portraits, which can otherwise be distracting. To generate more wealth, place plants in the southeast and east sides of the office, making sure the plants are tall and reach for the sky, such as bamboo. And if you prefer to keep live plants out of your office, you can go with silk versions or even photographs and artwork that will generate the same type of energy. And, finally, on the north wall, put up artwork, or add a small water fountain, that focuses on the energy of moving water. This will serve to energize your career.

It is hardy, easy to care, requires less frequent watering, once in couple of months when it is placed in temperature between 15 -22 degree celsius. The Pachira aquatica is famously known as the Chinese money tree because of its five-lobed palmate leaves. The five lobes are considered lucky in Asia because they are associated with the five feng shui elements of water, earth, fire, wood, and metal. It is often distinguished for its braided stem and flourishing leaves that are sometimes made to create a round-shaped canopy. It is widely used as an ornamental plant in Asia, where you can find them placed in business offices and malls, grown as a bonsai, or given out as gifts during the Chinese New Year.
Thanks for the tip. In my office, we do not have the freedom to choose and shift our desk. So it ended up that this newcomer’s desk was place directly opposite mine and I can immediately feel the fengshui went wrong. I was looking up on what to do since there is no choice about moving desk (we had very limited space) and will definitely try place the barrier (probably use the portable whiteboard and putting plants on my desk)
