“Feng Shui, that’s just how you decorate your room and the layout right?”. Wrong. There is a lot more to it than that. Feng Shui is a way to encourage positive energy, bring you better fortune and help you live a bigger life. There are many schools of Feng Shui, but the general principe is the same. Feng Shui is a way to balance the energies in a given space, for example a bedroom, linking the destiny of a man to his environment. Powerful stuff.
I’m hoping you can help me with wealth and health areas of my home. Recently, all of us (kids and parents) have gotten injured and/or sick. Also, our finances are not moving forward. We are trying to buy a house, but face one obstacle after another. I’ve drawn a rough layout of our two story home. We are currently renting. Our landlords had a mirror above the stairs, but removed it when they did some repairs. I’m wondering if that is when the troubles started.

If you happen to have an uncovered drain in your shower, bathtub, or any of your sinks – especially one that resembles a black hole – you unfortunately have a powerful visual affirmation of wealth and resources draining too quickly out of your bank account and life. Luckily, the solution is simple: take a trip to the hardware store and get yourself a drain cover.
To many, love seems easy to attract and enjoy, but hard to keep. To others, neither attracting nor enjoying love works, let alone keeping it. And then there are those people who seem to not only enjoy and keep love but also constantly radiate love, thus attracting even more of it. What is their secret and how can you learn from these lucky people? Can feng shui explain it and help you attract and keep the love you dream of?
The feng shui tips for money are simple to incorporate into your home. Feng shui for wealth won’t bring you abundance if you don’t strive for it. What feng shui for prosperity does is provide support and foster a space to attract the energy of wealth and money into your life. These feng shui tips for money will create a flow of energy in your home that welcomes wealth and abundance. Use these feng shui tips for wealth in the home or office.
The ancient Chinese method of Feng Shui helps us to balance our homes and create happier, more successful lives, room by room. We often turn our attention to the bedroom, the sanctuary where we can rest and recharge. Having the proper Feng Shui in the bedroom can help your romantic life as well as your ability to rest and to feel in control. You have to know how to keep the chi flowing, and how to deflect any negative energy that may enter your room -- and your life.

Hello, I have a question about your article: “Feng Shui Tips for Money”. Your article says to replace any broken items in your home. We live in a rented apartment and the landlord did not do the usual fix-ups when the former tenants moved out. We moved in with the blinds broken in all four window, cracked closet doors, the door frame to the master bedroom is broken and won’t stay shut when closed (you can simply push the door open when “closed”, you don’t need to use the door knob to open/close the door), bathroom tiles messed up such that you have a hard time opening/closing the door and the closet inside the bathroom, problems with plumbing and the stove and refrigerator…crayola marks everywhere, cigarette burns in the carpets and you get the idea here. The apartment was in such a poor state, we refused to give the landlord a deposit unless we could do a walk-through with him and get it in writing about all the broken and poor conditions of everything. He had a fit and would not do it. We’ve been living here since late August, 2015. He finally fixed the plumbing issues and our heater. But that’s all he fixed. We are not responsible for any of the other things, so how would your Feng Shui tips to repair broken things in the home really apply in our situation? What would be a “work around” for NOT doing repairs to a rented apartment, when they were already there when we moved into the unit? Also, about the citrine in the windowsill.. we have four large windows, each with a windowsill. Do I put a piece of citrine in just one of them or in all four? If in only one windowsill, which one? Kitchen, living room, master bedroom (this is being used as our temple/cat room) – or in our bedroom?
In a good feng shui house all the areas that are usually not paid much attention to are still loved and well taken care of.  From the bathroom to the laundry room, from your closets to the basement and the garage — all these spaces need care as they are still part of your house. You cannot really hide anything or neglect it in your house – it is like neglecting a specific part of your body. For good feng shui, the house as a whole needs order and proper care, as well as a basic loving treatment. Know that there is there no hiding of any spaces in a good feng shui house! Every part of your home is connected to every other part (again, just like in the physical body).

Some feng shui experts say that new bedsheets and linens can help freshen up your romantic relationship. Others tell you to use colors such as white, bright green, or pink to heat up your relationship and avoid red because it could burn up your relationship. Though I’ve never tried these, I personally think that the effects of colors on feng shui are limited, and these tips can only bring short-term results.

The only stress I really have IS the insomnia. However, it seems to be resolving a bit at a time. I thought I read that it was bad to have your feet facing the area of the toilet, especially the bathroom door. My feet face a bit to the side of the door, but I can see part of the bed from the bathroom. I’m glad I was mistaken on the wall! Thank you!
Is your bedroom designed in such a way to energize you every day? Or, is it completely cluttered, creating a place of negative energy? The art of Feng Shui can help you create a more positive and calming environment, in which you can get the rest and relaxation you need to survive the work week and other stressors we face every day. Not sure how to properly Feng Shui your bedroom? We have you covered. Here are some of the tips to help you create a revitalizing environment.
In feng shui, a cluttered house equals a cluttered mind. Even worse, clutter literally sucks up the energy in a space. "You may think you're hiding your clutter, but the closet has as much of an effect on energy flow as anything else," says Whitehurst. If there's clutter somewhere in your home — even tucked away in an attic — then it's also cluttering your head, as well as the rest of your body.
If you want to find your half or you want your current relationship to get more serious and closer to marriage, make room for another person in your bedroom. Take a look inside your closet and drawers, especially in the bedroom, and if they are overfilled with your stuff, make a goal to empty out some of them. When you managed to do so, admire how they look empty and imagine the things of your loved one placed there.
In a practical world, televisions and laptops are often a necessary evil in your sacred bedroom space. It's impossible to get away from technology, so a compromise solution is to place your TV in an armoire or another cabinet that can be closed when you're finished watching TV for the night. Close your laptop when not being used and store inside a nightstand or drawer. That way, they are at least out of sight and your space while you rest.
Avoid Metal, Water and Fire element decorating. While Metal and Fire elements are never really recommended for the East area anyway, the Water element is usually very auspicious here. However, if you have a strong Water element in your decor already, do your best to make it more subtle/to subdue the power of Water here. The reason for avoiding a strong Water element in the East area in 2019 is the fact that Water is the element that weakens the Metal element, and you definitely do not want to weaken all the auspicious energy that the annual star brings!
Things that look like money, but that you can’t really spend, are not recommended in the feng shui Money Corner. This includes objects with dollar signs as their design, as well as fake money, such as from board games or enlarged reproductions of paper money. Don’t store bills that you owe or have paid in the Wealth Corner. They represent money leaving you.

In regard to colors, another of my favorite Feng Shui tips for romance is to paint your walls a “skin-tone” color like ivory, beige, rose, brown, or chocolate. It's best to avoid painting your bedroom lavender because this is considered the color of chastity, which may be great for your teenager’s room, but not for adults. Add red accessories to your bedroom in shades of scarlet, crimson, and burgundy to activate the Fire Element and ignite your love life.
Getting started with feng shui for your home is easy when you begin with the house basics and gradually move on to the more complex feng shui levels. After you have mastered these seven home feng shui steps, you can explore the deeper levels of feng shui, such as the annual movement of feng shui stars, or energies. The important things to remember are to start simply, have fun, and thoroughly enjoy the process—this is good feng shui.
You attract what you are, so be aware of the quality of your personal energy at all times. Being and expressing love means feeling totally loveable (which you are!) and not looking for love out of need, fear or insecurity. Feng shui can help you create a space that will support and strengthen your energy, thus allowing you to feel secure in yourself, happy and loveable. It will also help you express the energy of love with various symbols (also called feng shui love cures), be it classical or modern. Have at least several feng shui love cures in your home and place them in either your Love and Marriage bagua area or your lucky feng shui direction for love.

We had a client whose walls were full of framed photos of her and her family, her and her friends, and her and *gasp* her ex (see No. 5). While she said that she wanted a partner, everything about her space implied that opposite: Her full walls signified a life without room for someone new. Not only that, having her walls so full of memories energetically pulled her into the past. This is not to say you shouldn’t decorate your home as you prefer, but do make sure that there is room both physically and energetically for someone new to enter your life. Negative space is not an absence; it’s allowing space for things to unfold.

The entry and front door to your home represent the way you face the outside. It’s how the world sees you, like a first impression. Be sure to keep the area clean and clutter-free. This does not mean the entry must be completely empty; rather it’s about keeping only what you need there. So if it’s winter, it makes sense to hang your scarf, hat, and coat there. The interior and exterior entry should also be well lit (get some bright bulbs on a dimmer!). Lastly, be sure your door number is clean, hung straight, and easily visible. Auspicious opportunities need clear signage to find you! In addition, I often recommend a nice black rectangular welcome mat to attract good energy.
Anjie Cho, feng shui expert, interior designer and creator of Holistic Spaces, says, “Your bedroom represents you. Other than maybe your office, you spend a majority of your time in your bedroom, especially if you get six to eight hours of sleep at night.” And that’s when the so-called magic happens: “Because you’re unconscious and in a passive state while you sleep, you’re open to absorbing energy around you more easily,” Cho says.
To bring good vibes to your space, you might want to consider purging unwanted items from your bedroom. "If you store objects from your past or present that you do not associate with beneficial emotional memories or energetic frequencies, it could negatively influence your aura (energy field), dreams, emotions, and thoughts on a subconscious level," cautions Cerrano.
If you’ve ever had a chat with a real estate agent about dated house fixtures in tacky gold finish, they will tell you that these houses are much loved by most Asian buyers. I’ve had clients who lived in such houses, and even though they hated the fixtures they feared changing them because that would be bad feng shui. The only bad feng shui was actually keeping those dated fixtures!
When it comes to getting a good night's sleep, we'll readily admit that there are very few things we won't try. From lowering our thermostats to upgrading our mattresses, we've spilled a lot of ink on strategies for getting solid shut-eye. But as it turns out, optimizing our beds' feng shui could be one of the simpler ways of ensuring we get a restful night's sleep.
Always start with your space first, listen to it and experiment with applying feng shui, do not take it as the ultimate and absolutely powerful knowledge. Feng shui is not a religion, nor is it a superstitious set of beliefs; in its best application feng shui is a powerful tool to improve the energy of any space. This, in turn, improves the energy of people who live or work in the space. It’s that simple! If you feel confused about combining the annual updates with the traditional feng shui bagua requirements, these tips for applying the yearly feng shui updates will help.
If you’ve been reading my articles for a while, you might get tired of me repeating “no clutter, no clutter, no clutter”. I have to keep doing it, though. Clutter is stuck energy, and the essence of cluttered spaces  – as well as the dominant energy of people who live in cluttered spaces – is based on fear mixed with pessimism. Hardly a quality of energy that can help one attract wealth! Yes, of course, I know that clearing clutter is not easy, and yes, I know that it might take time to get rid of all your clutter. All you have to do, though, is commit to clearing it, and then follow an easy feng shui clutter clearing system.
