A wind chime disperses the energy of the wind as sound waves, according to the principles of feng shui and can be used instead of a crystal. (Using both a crystal and a wind chime is usually redundant and therefore only creates clutter.) But a wind chime can also attract energy because sound draws our attention. When we hear a sound, we look toward it. Attracting and dispersing are different ways of dealing with energy, and that’s one of the reasons it’s important to announce your purpose.
No matter which feng shui bagua school you want to work with (this short video tells you about the two feng shui bagua styles); focus your efforts on your money area and take good care of its energy. This means the overall decor in your money area has the appropriate feng shui colors, items, shapes and images, all expressing the Wood and the Water feng shui elements. A bit of Fire feng shui element decor is always good and serves as an energizing factor.
Who has not heard of Feng Shui symbols like chinese dragon, laughing buddha or phoenix  ? Some of the feng shui symbols are well known like mandarin ducks or the lucky bamboo. Whether you use feng shui symbols as gift or as an expression of good wishes you must know where to place it. Otherwise they cannot fullfill the great promise of their meaning.
Live plants have their own chi and will draw chi to them. Don't have a green thumb? "The next best thing is to showcase high-quality silk plants and flowers — not plastic," says Varone. The best places for plants are in the kitchen (between hot and cold appliances to create balance), in the dining room (to draw abundance), and in the family room (to promote health, life, and connection).
Feng Shui, literally meaning “wind and water,” is a traditional Chinese concept linking we humans  to our environment.   It’s based on several complex, ancient notions, but in a nutshell, it aims to ensure that people live in harmony with their surroundings.   The Chinese have a deep belief in Ch’i, the animating life force that flows everywhere; it permeates your home, physical surroundings, the rivers roads, trees, and all people.  This hidden force also enters our home  and may be divided into sha (negative) Ch’i or yun (positive) Ch’i.  The purpose of Feng Shui, the “art of placement,” is to enable you to tap the beneficial Ch’i energy to its maximum, in order to disperse, disrupt, or remove obstructions to free the flow of Ch’i.

"Not a single thing!" Brophy says. Because every item has its own energy, the more stuff that's piled under the bed (even if it's just extra bedding!), the less space there is for your own energy to pass through while you sleep. This can be a tough one, especially if you're lacking in the square footage department, but Brophy swears this is helpful to everyone, and particularly recommends it for people who have difficulty sleeping.
Can you clearly visualize your life with the man or the woman of your dreams? How would that look, feel, taste, smell? Bring that sense into your home with specific images, feng shui colors, use scents (preferably pure essential oils) that reflect the energy you want. Feng shui love tip: Avoid sad, broken heart images if you want to attract a happy love relationship. After the feng shui basics above, you can try more advanced feng shui tips, such as:

Feng Shui is literally the art and concept of placing furniture and elements of your house with regards to their surroundings. The way you place and arrange these elements will overall bring good and bad vibes, and thus, positive and negative opportunities. Feng Shui’s roots date back to over 6,000 years in China and is a complex art and science of balancing and harmonizing energies in different spaces through architectural placement.
When considering feng shui for creating money and prosperity, remember that purple is the color of wealth. Green’s good too—think of the greenback dollar. Red and blue are also good colors for the Wealth Corner. You certainly don’t have to use them all; I hope that you don’t—the result could be an eyesore. Pick one or possibly two of the colors that you think would look good together in the far left corner of your space and use rich tones of that color. If you’re planning to paint a wall or two anyway, the glory of paint is that it costs no more to add some pigment. Then you’ve got a nice big dose of the right color in your feng shui Money Corner. Consider giving it a try. Live with the right color in the right area for six months, and you’ll probably love the result so much that you wouldn’t consider painting over it.

A woman took one of my classes on the feng shui bagua, and as a result she put a fountain in a corner of the large master bedroom, which was also the Money Corner of the whole house. Her husband pooh-poohed the idea, but within a week their coffee shop reached the daily sales goal they had set for it, but had never quite made. A few days later they exceeded the goal. The wife thought she’d have some fun with her previously doubting husband. She said, “I think you’re right. I think the fountain had nothing to do with our record-setting days. I’m going to remove it.” “Oh, no you don’t!” was his response.
How can you strengthen both the Metal element of the visiting star, as well as the native Wood element energy of this bagua area? Is there a feng shui element that is good for both elements? Yes, luckily it is! In 2019, focus on the Earth element in the East area, as this will support both the Wood and the Metal elements and keep them both in balance.
Bright lights rev up energy. If you're trying to keep energy costs down, then place high-wattage bulbs in the hallways, and lower-wattage bulbs in the rest of the house. "Hallways represent the meridians; the brighter the wattage, the more clean and clear your veins and arteries are," says Whitehurst. Want to light up internally? Place objects around your house that elicit positive emotions and lift your own personal chi. If a particular item makes you feel giddy, put it in a place where it's easy to see.
Ever heard that for a good night’s sleep, you should only sleep in the bedroom? So many of us watch TB, use our computers and even work in the bedroom, and this interrupts its main function: to offer a calm place for sleep.  This is the yin/yang concept: create balance in the home, with energetic activities going on in places like the kitchen or living room, but calmer ones going on in the bedroom and bathroom, for example. Keep electronics out of the ‘calm’ areas, too!
If there are areas or objects in your home that are collecting dust, it may symbolize areas of your life that are stagnant and ignored. If you don’t need that object, maybe it’s time to donate it. And if there’s a room you haven’t stepped foot in, maybe it’s time to peek inside. It can be as simple as taking the time to move things around to stir up some good energy.
A most amazing use of red inside a home was in an old San Francisco Victorian building. The couple had painted the back wall of the bedroom a very sophisticated red, a very deep red. My first words were, “How many coats?” They said, “Five, and in some places six.” It does take more than one coat to get saturation with the color red. This was ultra-saturation, and there was a frieze along the top foot of the high wall. They had taken lines from an Antonio Machado poem and stenciled them in large letters so that you read it by turning fully around in the room. The words were something like, “I dreamed there were bees, and they were taking all the foibles and troubles of my life and making honey and honeycomb.” It was one of the most wonderful rooms I’ve ever been in.
The Horse is one of the four Feng Shui animals that attracts success and luck. It symbolizes victory in everything you pursuit. A silk parchment with 8 magnificent horses represents an excellent remedy for activating success in your career and business, all throughout the period of 8, from 2004 until 2024. It attracts new opportunities, chances of profit, benefits, success, and accomplishments.
"To further harmonize the energy of your bedroom, keeping it organized and being very selective with the type of objects you bring into it (e.g., images, artwork, colors, textiles) play a collaborative role in enhancing your space," says Cerrano. And if you're looking to expand the good energy into the rest of your space, find out how to achieve a happy and healthy home, according to feng shui, here.
Stand inside your home with your back to the front door.* Look forward. The part of your home in the far left corner is the money sector. The far right corner is the relationship zone. Got it? You work the magic by placing certain items in certain zones; some have symbolic power, others a literal connection to the area. The eight-point system is intricate and layered; feng shui expert Catherine Brophy shares her best feng shui tips for making every room in your house feel calm and happy.
Followers of Feng Shui would say that light is our number one nutrient and is one of the most powerful tools for encouraging the right energies. Warm lighting is best for bedroom Feng Shui, as it creates a healing and homely atmosphere to put our minds at ease and help us to relax. Candles are the prettiest way to create warm light in the bedroom, but make sure you buy toxin-free candles.
Always start with your space first, listen to it and experiment with applying feng shui, do not take it as the ultimate and absolutely powerful knowledge. Feng shui is not a religion, nor is it a superstitious set of beliefs; in its best application feng shui is a powerful tool to improve the energy of any space. This, in turn, improves the energy of people who live or work in the space. It’s that simple! If you feel confused about combining the annual updates with the traditional feng shui bagua requirements, these tips for applying the yearly feng shui updates will help.

In other words, do not expect that after all the feng shui improvements, your true love will come knocking on your door or that your current partner will love you even if you never make the effort to spend time together. I hate to break it to you, but feng shui is NOT magic, nor is it a love spell. But I can tell you this: it’ll definitely help a great deal if you put in that effort. You’ll notice that your relationship will face less hurdles, and your love life will grow stronger each day like a tree that’s properly fed with clean air and water.
To many, love seems easy to attract and enjoy, but hard to keep. To others, neither attracting nor enjoying love works, let alone keeping it. And then there are those people who seem to not only enjoy and keep love but also constantly radiate love, thus attracting even more of it. What is their secret and how can you learn from these lucky people? Can feng shui explain it and help you attract and keep the love you dream of?
Bedrooms beautiful spaces of all that represents you. It is well known that you can tell so much from a person just by how htere bedrrom looks and feels. Your bedroom reveals so much from a your interior style, daily lifestyle and personality. A bedroom is a sacred place and should be treated as such, it should reflect the inner most deepest sense of oneself. Its a sanctuary a place to shut out the world and be at one with yourself and your intimate thoughts and feelings.
If we see from a vastu perspective then balcony in Southern part of the house aren’t recommended. However, if it’s not an extension then it’s ok. Also, you can put appropriate colored curtains as a small remedy. BTW, you can send me your home plan; that way it’ll be better for me to assess the house. You can always get help from a local feng shui or vastu expert.
Are the 2019 feng shui updates important? Should you rush into applying them in your home as soon as we enter 2019? Will the annual 2019 feng shui updates make a big difference in your home or office? Let’s explore. The annual 2019 feng shui updates are used mostly with the classical feng shui bagua, meaning you can look into applying them in your home or office this year if the way you defined the bagua of your space is by using the classical bagua style.
If one side of the bed is touching the wall, the person who is sleeping facing the wall could feel deprived of freedom, restricted or stuck in the relationship. If it’s possible, move your bed so that both sides to be at an equal distance from the walls. The ideal position for the bed is on the opposite side of the door, but not in straight line with it. If you can’t see the door when sitting on the bed, place a mirror on the wall to help you gain visibility to the room door.
In feng shui, the area connected to your money, or financial prosperity and abundance, is the Southeast area of your home or office. This is the classical, or traditional feng shui school way to define your money area. In the Western, or BTB, feng shui school, the money area is the upper left area of your space as viewed from your home's floor plan.

Make sure you have something representing the five elements — wood, earth, metal, fire, and water — in every room. The goal is to stay grounded, centered, and balanced in your life and your environment. For example, place a wooden bowl filled with stone pebbles alongside a candle and a vase of flowers. Or try to incorporate colors that symbolize the five elements:

Be sure your feng shui home trinity (bedroom, bathroom, kitchen) is treated well. You need good feng shui energy in these three very important areas of your home. If the energy in one of them is low or unbalanced, it will sooner or later reflect in the energy of your love relationship. Use smart feng shui tips to help you improve this feng shui trinity.

One of the best ways to improve work and finances is to move your desk to the command position of the room. The command position is facing the door that opens into your office. Whether your office is strictly at home or you have one at home and in another location, it's important that you move your desk to this position. Make sure that you sit with a solid wall behind you and not a window. A window will not offer you any support in your work or career.

The bedroom is, understandably, a highly important relationship zone in your home. No matter if you are looking for the one or trying to get back on track with your long time lover, many feng shui experts agree that a new set of bedsheets and a new duvet cover will help reset your love life. Simple and easy, this is a good first stop for getting your love feng shui on track, plus you can go shopping at one of our favourite interior design stores.
We live in a rented apartment ( floor plan attached). Request if you could please advise if any corrections are required. The main door faces North West and the master bedroom is the one attached to the small balcony. We use the servant room as our pooja room. The Children sleep in the 11*12 bedroom. The placing of all the furniture is very similar to the floor plan image.
The positioning of your bed is extremely important for proper Feng Shui energy flow. A bed should never be west-facing. Nor should it be placed under a support beam. Your headboard should not lean against a window; however, it should lean against a solid wall, but never the bathroom wall. A bed should be parallel or perpendicular to a wall and should not face the bedroom door directly. Finally, a bed should not face a mirror.

Another way that energy can leak out of a home is through wall sockets. If something is plugged into the socket, there is no leak, but if the holes are visible there is leakage. In some homes when the weather is cold, you can feel cold air seeping in through bare sockets on outside walls. That’s not energy coming in—that’s your money going out via your heating bill. The solution is simple—use opaque socket protectors or covers, the kind that prevent babies from sticking things into the sockets. Often, the socket covers are translucent, and those aren’t best for feng shui purposes. Opaque ones are better, preferably in the same color as the socket plate.
For the first position: feet facing the closet door should be ok, if it’s not the door of a walking closet. As for the edge of the closet, can you place the edge close to the wall? It’ll help mitigate its effect. Having the window beside you is acceptable if it’s not right next to your head. However, there’s still some health consequences from the outside wind that you should watch out for.
The feng shui Money Corner should be clutter-free and tidy, with clean windows. This is the wrong place for an open trash can—if the can must be there, it should have a lid. Avoid bare glass edges in your Wealth Corner, and don’t keep broken or malfunctioning objects in this area. If the Money Corner of the home is a child’s bedroom, it’s important to have a picture of the parents or head(s) of the household on the wall in that room. Otherwise, the child can become too powerful in the home.

Use your feng shui birth element to help create a home that nourishes and supports your energy. For example, if your birth element is Fire, you can introduce the expressions of the Fire element, such as triangular shapes or the Fire colors: red, orange, purple, magenta, pink, and yellow. You will also want a strong Wood element in your home, as Wood feeds the Fire element in the productive cycle of the five feng shui elements.
I am Vidhya. I need ur valuable opinion & suggestions for my home. I am a post graduate and qualified in some competitive exams but did not get a permanent job till now. Also financial stability is not at all here. it seems like some obstruction there towards my career & wealth achievements. Please help me sir…..am attaching plan of our house. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/e16b4cd042240e3582250a61250376f12bcd5563f92dea97d1f992f0ffbc3c02.png

A mortgage broker called me to consult for her firm. I had consulted for them when they first opened ten years before, and I was pleased to hear she wanted some different colors. Previously, we had put a rich green on the back wall, and this time I was hoping I could talk her into red. It’s often difficult to talk someone into a rich red wall. That wouldn’t be my recommendation in most homes—but in an office situation, red on a distant back wall looks energizing without being overpowering. The large painting that was to stay in the center of the wall had a good bit of earthy red, but there was a very rich true red in a few small places, and that’s what we tried to match. It worked like a charm. Even before she reopened, people were looking in the window, then coming in to say how beautiful the colors were. We had picked a light, greyish almond color for the other walls in that room, and the result was magnificent. The trim was pure white, which looked clean and crisp and didn’t interfere with the other colors.
Good feng shui is all about good energy, and good energy is alive and moving. This means that for a house to have good feng shui energy, it has to have a constant flow of fresh energy, plenty of natural light, alive items such as plants or flowers, vibrant art, good sounds. Good feng shui also means you know how to take care of the energy in your home as needed – be it with smudging or any other space clearing techniques.

Like many other tips listed here, this tip is more of a modern feng shui approach. Furniture on both sides of the bed should be the same because it promotes feelings of equality and the notion of partnership. No one is having extra space on the nightstand, and there really is no better side of the bed. This seems to me that it’s really one less thing for a couple to fight about.
One of the most spiritually damaging things is clutter, whether you see it or not. Chaos is the enemy of Feng Shui and even the mess under your bed can affect the energy flow in your bedroom. Take some time to clean the area under of your bed and you may feel a positive change the next time you go to sleep. Besides, clutter creates stress and we should keep it to a minimum as much as possible.
The association of the energy of water with wealth is obvious, very ancient and present in all cultures. Fountains are the most popular feng shui for wealth cure,  so if you love fountains, find one (or more) good quality fountains and place them in the best feng shui areas of your home (either inside or outside). I adore this water bell fountain by Woodstock, a classic by now and absolutely the best feng shui fountain I ever experienced! Be sure not to place a fountain in your bedroom – this is not good feng shui.
