This is a good lifelong practice for everyone: single, partnered, child, adult. Bedrooms are the most aptly and literally named spaces in our homes. Bed. Room. They are meant exclusively for rest, rejuvenation, and intimacy. Electronics, on the other hand, are stimulating: They scatter our energy, steal our focus, and distract us from the pure. Ideally, the only items needing electricity in your room would be lamps and possibly an alarm clock or music source.
In other words, do not expect that after all the feng shui improvements, your true love will come knocking on your door or that your current partner will love you even if you never make the effort to spend time together. I hate to break it to you, but feng shui is NOT magic, nor is it a love spell. But I can tell you this: it’ll definitely help a great deal if you put in that effort. You’ll notice that your relationship will face less hurdles, and your love life will grow stronger each day like a tree that’s properly fed with clean air and water.
Looking for an easy way to incorportate feng shui principles into your bedroom décor? Home accessories offer a low-cost, low-commitment way to test them out in your space. "If you are a feng shui minimalist in how you approach enhancing your bedroom's energy, one area that could be utilized as a soft focal point is with the bed accessories themselves," says Cerrano.
The valuable object does not have to be visible. One client hid a ruby under the carpet of the house he had for sale. The house was empty and just sitting on the market. I went to the Money Corner of the home, which was in the master bedroom. I yanked up a very small area of carpet in the corner, and said, “Do you have anything valuable you can put here?” He said he had a ruby, and I replied, “Sir, if you’re willing to put a ruby in this corner, I predict very good things.” The place sold lickety-split, and the seller retrieved his ruby before escrow closed. Many people put expensive jewelry in their Wealth Corner, and that’s perfect. Because costume jewelry is artificial, it would not be good in the feng shui Money Corner unless the jewelry is collectable and valuable in its own right.
Crystals are the powerhouses of good feng shui energy; they bring the essence of abundance from deep within the earth. If you are new to crystals, start with clear quartz, preferably in a rough/natural shape. Along with the clear quartz, there are 3 more crystals that can help you attract the energy of wealth: pyrite, citrine and amethyst. Pyrite is excellent as a wealth feng shui magnet, and reasonably easy to find and well priced. Genuine citrine tends to be pricey and a bit hard to find;  amethyst is easy to find, works very well on many levels, including purifying the energy in your home. If there are no crystal shops close to where you live, check our online selection of feng shui crystals (our store is powered by amazon.com).

Studies have found that colors definitely affect behavior, emotions, and moods. Decorating with yellow and red not only create an environment that induces high-paced activity, they also increase appetite. Have you ever wondered why restaurants stick towards these color palettes in ads and materials? Now you know. Using lighter tones like green, brown, or blue are best for making your bedroom a more relaxing and restful place.

For the first position: feet facing the closet door should be ok, if it’s not the door of a walking closet. As for the edge of the closet, can you place the edge close to the wall? It’ll help mitigate its effect. Having the window beside you is acceptable if it’s not right next to your head. However, there’s still some health consequences from the outside wind that you should watch out for.
In order to create and keep good feng shui energy in your home, it is important to have natural rhythms expressed visually in your decor. It is the energy of inhaling and exhaling, the energy of night and day, summer and winter, yin and yang. What that means on a practical level is that your house has areas that are busy and bursting with bright colors, images and textures, and then it also has areas of visual rest, stillness or repose. A house that is all stillness or all activity (as expressed in its decorating choice) is not a good feng shui house.

Bedrooms beautiful spaces of all that represents you. It is well known that you can tell so much from a person just by how htere bedrrom looks and feels. Your bedroom reveals so much from a your interior style, daily lifestyle and personality. A bedroom is a sacred place and should be treated as such, it should reflect the inner most deepest sense of oneself. Its a sanctuary a place to shut out the world and be at one with yourself and your intimate thoughts and feelings.

I’m hoping you can help me with wealth and health areas of my home. Recently, all of us (kids and parents) have gotten injured and/or sick. Also, our finances are not moving forward. We are trying to buy a house, but face one obstacle after another. I’ve drawn a rough layout of our two story home. We are currently renting. Our landlords had a mirror above the stairs, but removed it when they did some repairs. I’m wondering if that is when the troubles started.
We had a client whose walls were full of framed photos of her and her family, her and her friends, and her and *gasp* her ex (see No. 5). While she said that she wanted a partner, everything about her space implied that opposite: Her full walls signified a life without room for someone new. Not only that, having her walls so full of memories energetically pulled her into the past. This is not to say you shouldn’t decorate your home as you prefer, but do make sure that there is room both physically and energetically for someone new to enter your life. Negative space is not an absence; it’s allowing space for things to unfold.

Good feng shui is all about good energy, and good energy is alive and moving. This means that for a house to have good feng shui energy, it has to have a constant flow of fresh energy, plenty of natural light, alive items such as plants or flowers, vibrant art, good sounds. Good feng shui also means you know how to take care of the energy in your home as needed – be it with smudging or any other space clearing techniques.
Sorry, your comment went to spam and I just saw this. Window and bedroom door alignment just means you have a stronger flow of wind coming from your window, if they’re both open. Some may say it’s bad because energy cannot gather (which is what Feng Shui is all about). To remedy, just keep your door and window open at the same time for no more than 2 hours a day. It’s also not too big of a deal if you keep the both open – it just means it’s harder for the bedroom to gather Qi energy from the outside.
The main feng shui recommendation to deal with the negative energy of the annual feng shui star in the South area in 2019 is obvious: use a variety of Fire element decor such as candles, Himalayan salt lamps, fiery colors (red, purple, orange, magenta and yellow), images of fire, etc. A strong light source that is kept on most of the time is a very good feng shui cure for the South area in 2019.
Feng Shui is the art of attracting and building life energy for prosperity, well-being, and living in harmony with your surroundings. It literally translates to “wind and water” and has its roots in ancient Chinese tradition. ‘Chi’ is the core concept and philosophy behind Feng Shui and the Chinese believe it is found everywhere in life and nature, including inside your body.
Nature is the ultimate manifestation of unlimited wealth and abundance, so replicating the lush energy of nature in your home will help you attract the same quality of energy. Money plant or not, lucky bamboo or not, know that decorating your home with lush, verdant happy plants in good looking, solid pots is an excellent feng shui wealth magnet. The East, the Southeast, and the South areas are the most greenery loving feng shui areas in your home.

Clean your money corner. Clutter can negatively influence many areas of your life and can neither attract nor keep the energy of wealth. Remove any unnecessary items that that create visual clutter. It could be dead plants, garbage cans or bags, and any items that remind you of people, places or things you prefer not to think about. Also, take care of anything that represents money negatively like unpaid bills, mortgage payment reminders and receipts of things you regret purchasing.
Know that the less stuff you have in your bedroom, the better the energy flow. Also be sure to check often the quality of air in your bedroom; a simple aromatherapy diffuser can do wonders to keep your bedroom air fresh, as well as infuse it with healing essential oils. Of course, this is in addition, and not instead of opening the windows daily for a fresh air flow.
The popular classical feng shui cure for this area, the image of a blue color rhinoceros, can be used in the Southeast area in 2019. His energy is associated with strong protection, and the blue color brings the energy of the needed Water element. There are many ways you can bring this image with subtle decor details that are in harmony with your home decor. Alternatively, you can go for the actual traditional feng shui cure in a lucky charm form (find it in our online store). You can also substitute the image of rhinoceros for the image of the elephant, preferably in the Water feng shui element colors, too (blue or black colors).
If the window gets direct sunlight, use an octagonal crystal, rather than a disco-ball shaped crystal, because the octagon shape makes much larger rainbows of color. If the crystal is hanging, make sure that it can’t touch the glass, even in a sudden draft of wind. Lead crystal is softer than glass and the crystal (not the window) will chip if it knocks against the glass. Once the crystal is chipped, it’s no longer appropriate for the Wealth Corner because it is a broken object. Some consultants recommend hanging crystals with red thread; however, I use clear monofilament, such as fishing line, to hang crystals. My reason is that the crystal is the important thing, not what it hangs from.
General neglect. Some people's dining rooms are a dumping ground for mail, kids' stuff—just a mess that never gets cleared. And in some homes the room is totally ignored; no one ever sets foot in there. This depletes its energy, which makes it even less appealing. If you don't often use the room for meals, activate it in another way. Put a plant there so you're forced to come in and water it. Or bring your laptop in and use the space as an office.
Do you always catch your sleeve on a certain door knob? Stub your toe on a certain table? Then ditch it! Anything that can physically hurt you tells your subconscious mind that your home is not a safe place to be.  Replace sharp-edged furniture with those that have rounded edges and remove from sight anything that suggests violence, such as knives.

Get rid of clothes you no longer wear. Go through your closet and drawer and remove all of the clothes you haven't worn within the last year. Donate these clothes or pass them on to a friend or relative if they can still be worn. Even though you may not see the old clothes, keeping them in your bedroom may prevent you from embracing new opportunities.

I think of the feng shui bagua as a complicated yin/yang symbol, with the most yang spaces being toward the far wall as you enter a space. The far wall has a lot of energy because it receives a lot of energy—it’s always the first thing we see when we walk into a room. The two far corners of the back wall are the most powerful corners in a room. The two back corners of the entire home are likewise important and powerful. Even the back corners of your yard are important, as the examples will show.
A mortgage broker called me to consult for her firm. I had consulted for them when they first opened ten years before, and I was pleased to hear she wanted some different colors. Previously, we had put a rich green on the back wall, and this time I was hoping I could talk her into red. It’s often difficult to talk someone into a rich red wall. That wouldn’t be my recommendation in most homes—but in an office situation, red on a distant back wall looks energizing without being overpowering. The large painting that was to stay in the center of the wall had a good bit of earthy red, but there was a very rich true red in a few small places, and that’s what we tried to match. It worked like a charm. Even before she reopened, people were looking in the window, then coming in to say how beautiful the colors were. We had picked a light, greyish almond color for the other walls in that room, and the result was magnificent. The trim was pure white, which looked clean and crisp and didn’t interfere with the other colors.
If designed right, though, your bedroom has limitless potential. Between those four walls, you can have a sanctuary, a REM fortress, a dream world… This space can also symbolize your relationship with yourself, your partner and the most important things in your life. And feng shui — the ancient Chinese practice of balancing energies in any given space by placing your furniture and belongings a certain way — might help.
My bagua number is 1 and I have to sleep in the west area of my home. South is my best direction. Please can you tell me what I can do to lessen the effects of the west area in 2017. My walls are cream, side tables are cream, and my bedspread is silver grey. I do have difficulty having a restful sleep and often wake up several times in the night. Please will you advise. The TV is covered overnight.

So what are some of the drawbacks of having a metal headboard or bed frame? "From a Bau-biology feng shui perspective, choosing a solid wooden headboard and frame is ideal because 'metal frames and metal box springs can amplify and distort the earth's natural magnetic field,'" Cerrano elaborates. "Wooden materials are not a conductive element, so they can help reduce radio frequency signals from wireless appliances (your computer, cell phone, and television) from negatively penetrating your personal energy field," she adds.
Moving objects are considered powerful cures in feng shui. If you want to bring strong activation to this area, you can find an appropriate decor item that creates a sense of movement here. This can be an item that moves by itself from time to time (such as a wind chime placed outside and moved by gentle wind) or a wind chime that is activated by your touch. In 2019, you can have a small metal bell or a small singing bowl here that you use from time to time to create sound movement. If you are lucky to have a crystal bowl, this is an excellent cure for the East area in 2019!

The same is true with slanted or sloped ceilings. Though the feeling is very subtle, it does give you some sort of unease or feelings of being compressed (worse for claustrophobics), and those feelings carry over whenever you go to bed. This is especially true if you sleep on the side with the lower ceiling. An easy solution is to use a canopy bed. The four pillars that surround you while you sleep have the tendency to make you feel more “supported” from the downward pressure of the ceiling.

7 Powerful Feng Shui Tips to Bring Love to Your Bedroom-turn on bedside lampsHere's one last 'secret' Shui tip that I love. Whether you're looking for love or already in a relationship that can use a little spicing up, turn your bedside lamps on at the same time each night and keep them on for at least three consecutive hours. Then, turn them off at the same time. Do this for twenty-seven consecutive days and Feng Shui says that those lamps won't be the only thing getting turned on!

In the science of feng shui, symbolic fixes are sometimes called cures or solutions. When it isn’t possible to make an actual change, use a physical object (sometimes very small), which symbolizes your intention for change. At the time you place the object, say out loud what your intention is. You won’t have to say that or think about it again. So whether the change you make is real or symbolic, once you’ve done it, just go on with your happy life.
Last but not least, do a space clearing. Our homes and environments retain the energetic imprint of those that inhabit the spaces. It is always good to just take a little time and burn off the old energy to welcome fresh and new chi. My favorite methods of space clearing are the following: burn palo santo, smudge with white sage or spraying natural orange essential oil with water. Palo santo is light and great for everyday use. White sage is heavier for the heavy duty space clearing. And the orange oil is great if you also need something to uplift your mood. Whatever you use, make sure to imagine the space being filled with positive energy and your dreams for the future.
Leaves can look like coins or they can look like paper money. Paper money is my favorite, but coins are better than nothing. Dieffenbachia species (also called dumb cane) has large dark green leaves with spots of white that are reminiscent of large paper currency. Jade plant (Crassula ovata) and its close relative silver dollar plant (Crassula arborescens) have rounded fat leaves which are like big coins, so they are good in the Wealth Corner.
It happens to everyone. Your brakes go out, the air conditioner dies and your dog has to have surgery. When bad luck happens, it happens in threes, as the saying goes. And when that much happens all at once, it can take a toll on your finances. Suddenly, that darling pair of shoes goes away, and maybe you get behind on your rent or car payment. That’s when you need money fast, and feng shui can help!

You can't benefit from the positive energies (or opportunities) that flow through your front door if they zip right out the back door. If you open the front door and there's a direct line to the back door or a window, that's runaway chi. "You want chi to run in a meandering pattern so it can deposit good energy throughout your home," says Varone. You can stop runaway chi by placing furniture or some other decorative object in or near the questionable path and by using rugs to impede energy flow. Hanging a room separator or a faceted crystal near one of the doors will help, too.

You attract what you are, so be aware of the quality of your personal energy at all times. Being and expressing love means feeling totally loveable (which you are!) and not looking for love out of need, fear or insecurity. Feng shui can help you create a space that will support and strengthen your energy, thus allowing you to feel secure in yourself, happy and loveable. It will also help you express the energy of love with various symbols (also called feng shui love cures), be it classical or modern. Have at least several feng shui love cures in your home and place them in either your Love and Marriage bagua area or your lucky feng shui direction for love.
In a good feng shui house all the areas that are usually not paid much attention to are still loved and well taken care of.  From the bathroom to the laundry room, from your closets to the basement and the garage — all these spaces need care as they are still part of your house. You cannot really hide anything or neglect it in your house – it is like neglecting a specific part of your body. For good feng shui, the house as a whole needs order and proper care, as well as a basic loving treatment. Know that there is there no hiding of any spaces in a good feng shui house! Every part of your home is connected to every other part (again, just like in the physical body).
If you look for it, Benko says, "symbolism is constantly bombarding us on an everyday basis. From literature to traffic signage to movies, we're always being guided by symbolism. In our homes, it's enhanced even more, because we are creating these intimate environments that most often represent our fears and challenges." Often, we unwittingly reinforce the challenges in our lives by having their symbols in our space.
