I always tell my clients to opt for wall colors that are skin tones to promote maximal rest. Off-white, creams, chocolate browns, and peach tones are great. These colors are thought to promote maximum sensuality and peaceful vibes. One word of caution: Don't overdo it on the peach! It is thought to be very effective at attracting a partner—so effective that we need to use it with care. If you paint your whole bedroom in peach, chances are that you will attract someone, and then someone else, and someone else... If you're married, you might attract unwanted attention. Consider instead using peach as an accent tone on pillows, throws, and small objects. While accent walls and wallpapers can be tempting, they should be kept to a minimum and also have gentle colors and limited patterns.

Like many other tips listed here, this tip is more of a modern feng shui approach. Furniture on both sides of the bed should be the same because it promotes feelings of equality and the notion of partnership. No one is having extra space on the nightstand, and there really is no better side of the bed. This seems to me that it’s really one less thing for a couple to fight about.
“It is ideal to have two bedside tables on either side and a sturdy headboard and/or a solid wall behind your head. Make sure you’ve invested in a high quality mattress – if your current one is old with lumps and bumps it won’t promote the healthy sleep you need. It will turn your sanctuary into a nightmare of aches and pains”. It is also ideal to have your bed away from the door if you can help it.
The bedroom should be free of any water features or water noise. The bedroom needs to be completely calm or yin so that people can fall into a deep slumber. Water features in the bedroom are disruptive to our physical bodies while we sleep. Also, water features can indicate affairs, and negatively affect a couple’s relationship, when placed in the bedroom. It is best to reserve water features for other parts of the house.

Hello Sandi! That is a quite a tough Feng shui situation. We would recommend just doing your best. You cannot fix the things that are out of control, but it will affect the energy of your living environment. If there are certain things you can fix with your landlord’s permission, we would recommend trying to do so. However, there is not really a work around for this Feng shui tip, as broken things in the home do create both an energy and financial blog many times. For the citrine, if you were going to choose one window to place the citrine, you should choose the one which gets the most sunlight. That way the Citrine will be constantly recharged by the light.
If the window gets direct sunlight, use an octagonal crystal, rather than a disco-ball shaped crystal, because the octagon shape makes much larger rainbows of color. If the crystal is hanging, make sure that it can’t touch the glass, even in a sudden draft of wind. Lead crystal is softer than glass and the crystal (not the window) will chip if it knocks against the glass. Once the crystal is chipped, it’s no longer appropriate for the Wealth Corner because it is a broken object. Some consultants recommend hanging crystals with red thread; however, I use clear monofilament, such as fishing line, to hang crystals. My reason is that the crystal is the important thing, not what it hangs from.

Put your books elsewhere. You can keep a few books in your room if you read to put yourself to sleep, but too many books can make you feel overwhelmed in the space. Your bedroom is a place for rest and relaxation, and if you have too many books there, it will be too much like a place for work. Too many books in your resting space can also be overwhelming.[4]
Locate your feng shui money area and take very good care of it. Typically, this is your home office where you manage finances and other work. You will want to include elements like wood, which represent money and wealth. The color blue and pictures of rivers, lakes, and oceans represent water, which nourishes the wood. You can also use mirrors, plants, and small icons that symbolize prosperity.
Focus on Water element feng shui cures in order to exhaust the Metal element of the visiting negative star, and at the same time to strengthen the native Wood element of the Southeast area. There is a variety of Water cures you can bring into your Southeast area — fountains, mirrors, images of water, decor elements such as pillows, rugs, lampshades, etc in flowing shapes (the shapes of the Water element) and in predominant colors of blue and black (the colors of the Water element). Even a simple bowl with water that you keep fresh and change daily, with a clear intention, will work well as a feng shui cure for the Southeast area in 2019.
Many experts have mentioned that mirror facing the bed tends to bring the energy of the third party into your intimate relationship. I’m not sure how this is, but I can imagine that this feng shui saying originated from accumulation of experiences. In any event, mirror facing the bed is just bad feng shui that can affect your sleep in various ways.
Pretending your space has good energy by hanging chimes and crystals just does not work; it is a false (and naive) cover up. So, focus on creating a genuinely strong, healthy and solid foundation, and then apply the wealth and money feng shui tips and cures that truly speak to you. Always choose the wealth feng shui cures that make sense in your home or office; a three legged frog in a modern house may look absolutely ridiculous (unless it has deep meaning to you); and it will sure not work to attract wealth.
The 2019 feng shui cures are applied on February 4th. Why? Because feng shui cures are usually applied on the Solar New Year (February 4th, 2019), not the Lunar New Year (February 5, 2019). Of course, you can also apply them at any time in 2019! The principle of “better late than never” sure applies when it comes to creating good feng shui in your space. Start with a clean and orderly home first; do not apply the yearly feng shui cures –- in fact, do not apply any feng shui cures -– if your house has chaotic energy created by clutter and lack of order/cleanliness.
Beauty is like food, energy-wise. An ugly space can literally poison your energy, while a beautiful, harmonious one will elevate, nourish and heal you. Do your best to create and maintain a sense of beauty in your bedroom and have only items that you love to be surrounded with. Follow basic feng shui colour guidelines, such as the one that recommends earth colour tones as best colours for the bedroom (look at a wide range of colours: from deep chocolate browns to light sandy colours), and be sure to add sensual, romantic touches in a Fire feng shui element colour (red, pink, magenta, lavender or coral orange colours.) Bring only art that makes you happy and inspired, use comfortable natural bedding and have either candles or dimmer switches to keep the energy soft and nourishing.
I could also build a L-shaped wardrobe in one side of the bed instead, if I don’t place the bed in the middle of the wall, which would create extra space in one side (the bed wouldn’t be squished into a corner, but there would be a considerable difference between the space in one side and the other; let’s say 4 feet in one side and 2 feet in the other side). In your opinion, which scenario would be most optimal? Any remedy for possible issues or variables to avoid?
I know we said that Feng Shui isn’t just about how you decorate your bedroom. There is much more to it than that. But that doesn’t mean that bedroom Feng Shui colours aren’t an important part. It is recommended that, for the best flow of energy for restorative sleep and even sexual healing, we aim for a balanced “skin tone” decor. This includes all shades from bright white to rich, dark browns. These colours are warm, earthy and nourishing.
Red is the most powerful color in feng shui. It’s the most noticeable color to the eyes of primates, including humans. It is so noticeable that it was chosen for the color of stoplights and stop signs. Red is the color of blood, and it’s used on flags more frequently than any other color. The power of red is used to make a change when a real change is not possible. Red is also used when there’s a need to pull the eyes, and therefore attract energy, in a certain direction.
Life is insanely busy, so in theory, we all should have a serene place to escape to at the end of the day to relax and refresh, but let's be honest—most of us put those bedroom refocusing goals on the back burner. But today is the day you actually commit to revamping your sleeping space and turn it into a total zen zone, and feng shui is a good place to start. It's an ancient practice that aims to create harmony between you and your environment. While it may seem mysterious and complicated at first, feng shui expert Catherine Brophy knows the easiest ways to incorporate it into your day-to-day life.
If you plan to reuse last year’s feng shui cures, be sure to cleanse them thoroughly. However, the best way to go is to purchase new feng shui cures to use as your annual 2019 feng shui cures. You can do that in any Chinatown, as well as many online stores (we certainly recommend our online feng shui store powered by amazon.com). Instead of dividing the info by good and bad 2019 feng shui areas, I will guide you step by step through all bagua areas to give you a good idea as to what is happening there in 2019. Let’s start in the East feng shui bagua area and move clockwise from there.

Mainly, be aware that this annual feng shui star brings you inspiring energy to fulfill your career dreams. As mentioned before, it is best to find a way — a subtle way — to bring an image or an item here that sparks the vision for your career success. Be mindful to have this image in the best colors for this area in 2019, which are earthy colors, or, if it is a small image, use the Metal element colors (white and silver).  Of course, a combination of these colors and elements will work best!
In feng shui, houses are absorbing most of the needed energy nourishment via the front door, so the stronger your front door, the more good feng shui energy it can absorb. And the more good feng shui energy your door can absorb, the better energy is there to support you!Having a strong feng shui front door It is a bit like having a clear, strong voice and speaking up for yourself/letting yourself and your needs be known. Houses need to have a clear voice, too.
In feng shui, chi is what we call life force energy: known to yogis as prana. And the front door is known in feng shui as the “mouth of chi.” In other words, it’s the place where blessings and abundance of all varieties enter both your home and your life. As such, abundant wealth, as well as the consistency of your financial flow, correspond with the appearance and condition of your front door. That’s why a clean, bright red door is an iconic feng shui image: red relates not only to prosperity, but also to vitality, success, and general positivity. But you need not have a red door (unless you want one). Just make sure you love the way it looks, it’s clean, it’s in good repair, it doesn’t squeak or stick, it has full range of motion (nothing is behind it), and the area around it (the entire entryway) is also beautiful and uplifting.

Curb appeal isn't just for selling a home. Clean up the yard and dispose of limbs, leaves, and other debris. Make sure pathways and walkways to the front door are clean and accessible. Repeat for all other entryways into your home. Trim overgrown shrubbery or replace older ones that are too big. If a tree is directly in front of a door, counter it with a wind chime.

I just started looking into feng shui thinking it may help my husband’s stress and conflict at work, ease his tension when he gets home and help my own businesses become prosperous. I’ve been reading so much and sometimes I am not surfe I fully understand. Can you give me some tips? https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/5b35b0e2b423d0194d698d26075abfec5ad9e1da1b106c015e9d23185aa0b84b.jpg
The general rule of thumb for televisions, computers and stereos is that they should not be in the bedroom. However, sometimes the situation does not allow for this. During times of rest, it is best to cover these up with a bed sheet. Electronics emit electromagnetic fields or EMF for short. These emissions can over time affect our central nervous system as well as our health adversely.

Learning what not to do in your bedroom is as important as learning what to do! Sometimes, this can even be a powerful shortcut into really feeling good versus bad feng shui energy in the bedroom, and knowing, on a deeper level, what makes a good feng shui bedroom. Below are many feng shui "what not to do" tips that will help you, in an easy and entertaining way, to create good feng shui!

Decorate your home and office with specific feng shui wealth cures that appeal to your taste and style. There is a variety of feng shui money cures – from traditional to modern – so take your time and bring into your space only the wealth cures that really speak to you of abundance and wealth. No matter which feng shui cure you choose – an aquarium for wealth or the Laughing Buddha, be sure you choose wisely.
Be sure your feng shui home trinity (bedroom, bathroom, kitchen) is treated well. You need good feng shui energy in these three very important areas of your home. If the energy in one of them is low or unbalanced, it will sooner or later reflect in the energy of your love relationship. Use smart feng shui tips to help you improve this feng shui trinity.
The bedroom is an obvious respite from a tiresome world for many reasons: It provides comfort, warmth and familiarity in the face of great stress, hard work and exhaustion. Though you collapse into bed, you find solace in the fact that the bedroom is one area you've put time and energy into creating it as something that reflects your personal choices and tastes.
Water represents wealth in Feng Shui. A lot of people ask me where the best place to locate a fountain for Feng Shui is. According to Feng Shui principles it’s advantageous to place a water element such as a fountain near the entry of your home. It can be just inside or just outside, but the most important part is that the water should be flowing towards the center of your home. That means that the wealth has the opportunity to pour into your life!
Purple’s not for everyone, and if it’s not for you, please skip on down to the next color. If you already like purple, or think you could be talked into it, read on. Purple is the color of royalty. That was the case in ancient China and in ancient Rome; in both cultures only royalty were allowed to wear purple. The island that produced purple dye (from seashells) was left off of the ancient Roman maps of the Mediterranean so that emperors could maintain their monopoly of the color.
The toilet holds a downward spiraling energy. When you close the lid, you are protecting chi (energy) from going down and away from you. Again, because of the water analogy, this is especially important! Listen to the language of our world and don’t “flush away” your finances. It’s also a good idea to tie red ribbons on the pipes behind the toilet, with the intention of protecting your finances once and for all.

If you’re thinking of making a garden or you already have one that’s dying, it’s time to do something about it. Your environment will love you back if you take care of it – remember that. Start by adding some flowers, watering the plants, and changing the soil – if that’s not already done. Use a wind chime for trees that are lying right in front of your door and trim those shrubs into picture-perfect landscaping elements. Also, make sure the pathways that lead to your entrance are clean and clear of debris. Get rid of the dirt and dust and allow the fresh air from nature to flow in by unclogging your environment.

When considering feng shui for creating money and prosperity, remember that purple is the color of wealth. Green’s good too—think of the greenback dollar. Red and blue are also good colors for the Wealth Corner. You certainly don’t have to use them all; I hope that you don’t—the result could be an eyesore. Pick one or possibly two of the colors that you think would look good together in the far left corner of your space and use rich tones of that color. If you’re planning to paint a wall or two anyway, the glory of paint is that it costs no more to add some pigment. Then you’ve got a nice big dose of the right color in your feng shui Money Corner. Consider giving it a try. Live with the right color in the right area for six months, and you’ll probably love the result so much that you wouldn’t consider painting over it.
If your love life has gone stale, treat yourself to luxurious new bedding to freshen your relationship and encourage your spouse or partner to linger in bed with you. "Think pink" if you want to add passion to your love life, and sleep on pink sheets to increase the hot, yang energy and enhance feelings of love and romance. Another Feng Shui tip for romance is to be sure you have the right size bed for your relationship. If the bed is too big, partners can drift apart, and if it is too small, they can feel limited in the relationship.

In Feng Shui, we use the “commanding position” to locate important furniture such as your bed. The bed is arguably the most important piece of furniture to put in the commanding position because you spend so many passive hours sleeping! To place your bed in the commanding position, you want to be facing the door while not in line with the door while lying in bed. Ideally you can be diagonally across the room from your bedroom door. However, I understand this is not always possible. In that case, find a mirror and place it so that you can see the door while lying in bed. I suggest freestanding mirrors, as they’re easier to move around and get just right.
We had a client whose walls were full of framed photos of her and her family, her and her friends, and her and *gasp* her ex (see No. 5). While she said that she wanted a partner, everything about her space implied that opposite: Her full walls signified a life without room for someone new. Not only that, having her walls so full of memories energetically pulled her into the past. This is not to say you shouldn’t decorate your home as you prefer, but do make sure that there is room both physically and energetically for someone new to enter your life. Negative space is not an absence; it’s allowing space for things to unfold.
A couple of things to add, I have 4 laughing Buddha`s – One Jade, 1 Golden, 2 Red(All Standing). One Red and 1 small Gold one have their hands up and Laughing and other two are carrying bags on their back and have place them in Living Room Showcase making them face to main door. I have installed a 18 bells type Metal Wind Chime at the Main Door Entrance Window – Left Side. Also I have 3 Legged Toad – Red Colour whom I have put near to the Main Door Window on a small table(coming inside house) and have put Velvet Red cloth underneath. I have put Money plant on top of Shoe Cabinet which is towards South side wall in the Dinning Room. I am also trying to increase the number of flowering plants at the entrance where there is Car Park.

I am moving soon, into our own first home. I came upon your site unexpectedly and have found it to be so informative. Thank you, I have recently lost my StepDad to a horrible act. I lived here on the property with him. I have decided to sell this estate and thankfully have found a cute farm. I have been through so much in such short period of time that now I am just trying to find some peace. Thank you .
In order to create and keep good feng shui energy in your home, it is important to have natural rhythms expressed visually in your decor. It is the energy of inhaling and exhaling, the energy of night and day, summer and winter, yin and yang. What that means on a practical level is that your house has areas that are busy and bursting with bright colors, images and textures, and then it also has areas of visual rest, stillness or repose. A house that is all stillness or all activity (as expressed in its decorating choice) is not a good feng shui house.
Everything you place in your bedroom has a profound effect on the flow of chi energy. You want to ensure auspicious energy flows easily between the bedroom door and windows. By keeping this natural pathway free of clutter and large pieces of furniture, such as chairs and armoires, you'll prevent stagnant chi and enhance all activities that take place inside your bedroom. Marks' last bit of feng shui advice for your bedroom is to "please understand that there's no such thing as 100 percent perfect feng shui. Use these principles to do the best you can with what you have and resolve to enjoy your home and your life!"
