Though I love how it looks, I’m not sure how comfortable I will be when sleeping on that frame. Having experienced wood cracking and furnitures breaking, I would feel anxious and scared of breaking that bed when I move or adjust on the bed to find a comfortable sleeping position. I suggest that you choose comfortability over design. And as for bed frames, choose the ones with proper support so that you can feel more relaxed.
Working with your back to a door puts you in a compromising position, even if you don’t realize it right now. If you reposition your desk and work facing a door, you may be surprised to feel how much more powerful that position is in space. If your desk is positioned so that your back has to be to a door, or if there is no way to change the desk position, put a mirror above your desk or a reflective surface on your desk that enables you to see the door in the reflection. In essence, no one can “sneak up on you” when you face a door or can see it.

Hello – I am seeking your advice regarding remedies for a challenging master bedroom space (unable to determine a suitable command position for bed placement). The master bedroom is accessed through a bedroom door however the master bath is first, on the right after entering the master door. A few more steps then you arrive in the master bedroom space and the depth of the room is to the right…away from door.
Get a supportive mattress. There are a variety of mattresses on the market, choose wisely and invest in the one that will promote best sleep and relaxation. The better you sleep at night, the better your health during the day, this is really simple. Be mindful of good Feng Shui and do not buy used mattresses - you never know what energy they have accumulated from previous owners.

Sorry, your comment went to spam and I just saw this. Window and bedroom door alignment just means you have a stronger flow of wind coming from your window, if they’re both open. Some may say it’s bad because energy cannot gather (which is what Feng Shui is all about). To remedy, just keep your door and window open at the same time for no more than 2 hours a day. It’s also not too big of a deal if you keep the both open – it just means it’s harder for the bedroom to gather Qi energy from the outside.

A few years later I found feng shui again, but this time with a new viewpoint: a Western viewpoint, grounded in tradition but also in science, so it made new sense to me. I tried more feng shui tips from this point of view, but this time the tips seemed to have more of a connection to my actual living space and lifestyle. They forced me to readjust myself in my space and see things in a new way.


Feng shui is a set of principles to help align one’s living space with who they are and what they want. The practice has been around for thousands of years, but it’s not stodgy or outdated. If you’ve been reading my articles for a while, you might get tired of me repeating “no clutter, no clutter, no clutter”. I have to keep doing it, though. Clutter is stuck energy, and the essence of cluttered spaces  – as well as the dominant energy of people who live in cluttered spaces – is based on fear mixed with pessimism. Hardly a quality of energy that can help one attract wealth! Yes, of course, I know that clearing clutter is not easy, and yes, I know that it might take time to get rid of all your clutter. All you have to do, though, is commit to clearing it, and then follow an easy feng shui clutter clearing system.
Put your books elsewhere. You can keep a few books in your room if you read to put yourself to sleep, but too many books can make you feel overwhelmed in the space. Your bedroom is a place for rest and relaxation, and if you have too many books there, it will be too much like a place for work. Too many books in your resting space can also be overwhelming.[4]
Some say that sleeping above the kitchen stove brings bad energy that disturbs sleep and creates health issues. Though I do not disagree with them, what I do know is that your bedroom’s temperature may be higher than normal, caused by the cooking activities and the heat given off from the back of the refrigerator. Because the optimal temperature for sleep is around 65 degrees Fahrenheit, you may be losing on some quality sleep.
For example, when I think of a lifelong love partnership, I can come up with many images, none of them being the Mandarin ducks (the traditional feng shui representation of love & marriage). This is because I have no cultural or emotional connections to this image. However, for many Chinese people, the image of Mandarin ducks will genuinely speak of devoted love because there is strong cultural lore connected to this image. This means that approaching feng shui in an intelligent way and with a good dose of healthy discrimination is the cornerstone of successful feng shui work.
Define the Bagua, or the feng shui energy map, of your house, by using one of the two main feng shui methods: the classical school Bagua or the BTB grid. Once you define the Bagua, you will know which areas of your home are connected to specific areas of your life. For example, in traditional feng shui, the Southeast feng shui area of your home is connected to the flow of money energy in your life.
